I'd say that car is pretty F'ed UP bad for just hitting 4 parked cars....no doubt those 600 horsies stampeded right into those helpless parked cars. You just KNOW the people at the dealership HEARD the crash since it was only 1/8th of a mile from the dealership when it hit the cars. Can you imagine the collective VOMITING at the mere thought of that beautiful beast being smashed like that??? Imagine the new owner vomiting too. I'm getting a little nauseous myself right now..........barf.
I've driven fast cars. Silly to do so in traffic though. But I've always said Chrysler products are junk - just another reason not to buy a Chrysler product - LOL.
Actually I went into a Chrysler Dealership 1 day (maybe it was a Dodge before they ended that name) to look at a truck and saw a Viper on the floor. I asked the salesman if it could be test driven. He looked at me and said - NO. Not unless you can prove you have enough money to buy it. (I did have enough). So I told him I did but that I wasn't really interested in buying Chrysler junk. I've owned Porches, GTO's (the 60's model) and now drive a Nissan Z 350 Roadster. Needless to say I'd never go back to that dealership (although I do understand them not wanting just any "car jockey" to drive their cars). LOL LOL LOL
WOW...that's insane! My cousin was test driving a Mustage GT when she hit someone and totalled BOTH cars. She handed the keys back to the salesman and walked away! Apparently when you test drive a vehicle it isn't your responsibility if it gets damaged. Not sure HOW it works if you're an employee and not a customer...poor guy!
Ouch. It reminds me of the day my son test drove a Jim Roush Monster Mustang and it's 460 horsies tried to buck him off at 120 mph and some idiot in a Benz pulled out in front of him. Scared the hell out of this old lady, when we did that 180 degree slide at that speed. The salesman screamed like a girl..... YEE HAW!! He bought the Carroll Shelby GT, so the saleman felt better after that. LOL :O)
Hmmm lemme make sure I understand this: Kid doing 120 on a test drive on public roadway with Mom in the car, and it's the "little old lady" who's the idiot? Get a grip. I hope he's filled out his organ donor card.

Actually, this vehcile is incredibly well constructed. The crush zones are designed to buckle like this to prevent driver injury. There is nothing cheap about a Viper. It took GM more than five years to put a Vette on the street that could stay with it. The thing will feast on a Jack Roush Mustang, in the hands of a qualified driver. Dumkoffens better had keep das hands in das pockets.
I remember the time several years ago when a car salesman was giving a prospective buyers a test drive in a Chevrolet Camaro - salesman was driving - going too fast - hit another car head on and killed 1 or 2 people.
Usually when I test drive a vehicle I tell the salesman that I'm gonna go pretty fast and he should stay at the dealership. They usually do.
yeah from what i heard the employee still has his job.the dude drivin it had no buisiness being in it,I'm not that big I have a hard time getting in mine but the dude who wrecked this one would've been more fit to drive a mega cab ram not a viper. To me i would say it's carma bitting that dealership.

Looks like a really cheap car that would "fall apart" in a slow crash like this one.

So many of us would love to afford to have a great vehicle and someone takes this one and tears it to shreads. I feel for the viper...
