well done india and tata auto, you show to the world that you care for your people by manufacturing can that can be affordable by many indian and rest of middle class people around the world, and also it indicates that develping countries too can copy from you, expecially the african countries if there are determine.
This is awesome. I think if towns would require that everyone drive one of these it would be awesome. i think I would be afraid of the open highway in one, but if everything were equal then it would be awesome. This is something that anyone with an income tax return or decent savings account could buy. Couldn't haul things in them and couldn't transport a lot of children, but for zipping back and forth to work and short list of shopping, this is awesome.
This is great but what will it cost here in the US? After taxes we will be looking at 21,000. Where is " NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" I don't always feel represented!!!! Do you?
You cant even by a motorcycle for the that amount and theres no doors or room for 5 on them. U siad it right DEE after taxes it woul dcost us 21,000. Nothing is cheap here and affordable. It would be nice to see people driving a more affordable car instead of the hoop's you see people driving.
Cute little car but with all of the U.S. government safety requirements, this would sell for far more than $2500. Not so sure this would be a big seller in the U.S. as Americans are too savvy when it comes to their cars. After all, look at how well the Yugo was received here.
Your vehicle will sell well here in the United States. Your company has imagination, foresight and more. I would sure like to own a dealership here in the Northeast.
I agree 100% with Kamal and Rhonda Ortiz comments. I welcome this contribution from a new car manufacturer. We don't need V12, 500HP, 4,000 lbs cars. Simple, basic, small-engine, light cars is what the big cities and our Earth need.
A lot of us care about global warming, the economy, recycling, etc. But frankly, we might just be willing to shelve our conscience, and make an exception for this car. The reality is simple, this car at 2500 to 3 grand, with 50 plus mpg, most would easily turn a blind eye to whatever the pollution numbers are (ashamed to admit it, but I would). Whether you drive a Bentley or a Hyundai, or anything in between, nothing depreciates LESS than 2500 a year, many far more; for this price, if it depreciated to zero and fell apart and stopped runnign after 12 months, who cares, we'd ALL be money ahead. Amazing what can be done by the spirit of free enterprise, and in India, the place we all criticize for our outsourcing. If this thing was available in the US it could single handedly either kick start the economy or wreak havoc on it, this car if available in huge quantities, with the base still 2500 and well equipped no more that say 4 grand, well it wouldn't be more than a year or two before this car would quickly become so prevalent as to be every fourth or third car on the road as pickup trucks, suvs, minivans, and various other personal vehicles are traded in and people sacrafice high style and lots of room for huge mileage for an unheard of rock bottom price. I dare this guy to export them to the US - it would be the next best thing for this country since Barack Obama.
We Indians proud of Tata because of their great and ethical contribution for building our great India since independance. I salute Late JRD and now Hon. Ratan Tata for their achievement
This car comes along with: ABS, EBD, ESP, EMN, AC, 4 motion, 12 airbags, fog lights, parking assistance, stearing wheel with computer assistance, max speed. 300 mph at 1 gallon for 100 milles, sun roof, heated seats and mirrors, i-pod and phone incorporated, rain sensors, xenon lights and bonus!!!! one cd with barack obama (genuine monkey face! no make-up!) and a banana! just kidding! the car comes along only with RIP!!! :)))) if people in us would like to buy this so called car than i say go ahead! you would give a helping hand to the terrorists who could take a breake from killing you and spending money on bombs because nano would handle this job succesfully! so go ahead and die with a smile on your face because though you have lost your life you have won 12 500 $ by buying this car of death! and if you agree with Laurie and you buy it as a first car, be sure it will be your last one too! i sincerely recomand this car to all those who want to commit suicide!
