I'm just curious why Nissan didn't make this car under the Infiniti brand so it would have more prestige? Although the car is incredible, paying $80,000 for a Nissan doesn't sound right.
the reason why this car is being released under the nissan badge and not the infiniti one is because there is a huge cult following for the nissan skyline gtr, which has had a long history of prestige and honor within the racing circuit.
Another reason is that the GT-R will be a global car, and the 'infiniti' brand is only in America, it isnt even in japan, so to badge the car as that brand would limit the market potential incredible. Also as salman said the name GTR 'is' Nissan, goes back to the skylines of the 70's. In Australia the Skyline GT-R's were feared on the race track, and they were banned due to their dominance
