This does appear to be some sort of mule for an Jeep brand pickup truck; however the gang over at Jeep did specify that they wanted a vehicle very much like the Gladiator Concept Truck from '06. This means that it would have an extended cab with the spare tire mounted to the left side of the truck bed just ahead of the rear tire on the drivers' side. Also that concept truck was engineered with nifty rear opening half-door on the right side and an even more nifty access panel on the drivers' side aft the front door. With their penchant for creating unique vehicles, it seems a bit unlikely that these features would be omitted on the test mule much less a production model. So perhaps this is a stardard cab variant to be launched on foreign soil in the same fashion as it's sibling had been. With certain markets influencing these moves, it might seem infeasable to do just one version. And mounting the spare on the rear at the tailgate would definitely change my desire to purchase one, totally!
