Hmmm, Wow!! I can remember going to the bi-centenial show (1976) put on by Kenworth on East Marginal Way in Seattle WA. My mother was a machinist and was really proud to show us (4 kids) the new Conventional. It was White w/red and blue stripes. I thought it was the coolest. However, these beauties take the cake, the icing and the ice cream. I'm sure my mother would think so too. Even at the age of 70. My hat it off to the gents and ladies who participated in this design. Bravo!!!
the lonestar. a prostar on steroids. supposed to be the owner operators dream truck. well i am a mechanic at an international deler and it will not out sell a 9900I by any means but it does look cool.
Marly's right. I first thought "PT Cruiser," but I see a resemblence in some late '30s IH's, too. The LoneStar is much more toothy and chromey, though.
Thur's 01/31/08 I seen a couple of these headed south on I-69. North of Fort Wayne, In and passed one headed north . Hope it's more than a publicity stunt.
I saw this on on the road near the Fort Wayne test track, passing the old IHC assembly plant. Looks better in person, like the old K series if it had more horizontal lines and no vertical lines in the grill. Just bring back the triple diamond logo. I like it, bring the style to the medium duty line.
Looks sorta like a retro-37 model truck..kinda neat, will take a while to grow with. Also what are projected sales for the Canadian built unit? The cosmetic lines are really cool, and the character lines flow together well. Congrats to the engineering dept. for this one.
