GM has come closer to the competition with this Malibu. Stronger panel lines, dual exhausts and better looking tail lights would help. My first vehicle was a 69 Chevelle with special paint color #80 Oldsmobile ( baby blue ) with navy interior and a sports style steering wheel. The price was $ 2895.00. Almost forgot that vinyl top. I really don't see the love affair continuing for the automobile like it was back then, too pricey.
Can it compete with the Camry? Nope. After seeing all the marketing Chevy did for this new model, I had higher hopes for it in the looks dept. The interior especially leaves a lot to be desired.
