Oh please Ganesh, its obvious that u have some nasty fetish for the both Camry and Accord.
This new Malibu is aesthetically superior to the Camry and new Accord, the 08 Malibu looks MUCH better than those two bloated vehicles with the possible exception of the new Mazda6 and 08 Altima and is quite competitive with them.
The new Malibu is a looker and is going to sell very well for GM.
Still needs improvement- lets face it its still outsourced to a degree-its not German, Italian or Japanese-sorry GM the trucks may be somewhat a candle holder , but you can not shed a light on a Camry- for seven yrs I owned one never a major headache, bought a Subaru Forester never an issue, boguht a Suzuki sx4 and its relaible 100% bought an American Chrylser Pacifica 2004 model nothing but electrical, computer, noise, water settling in the doors etc... issues not to mention that a 35.00 state inspection turned out costing 732.00 -ie: it was also made in Canada -nice sharp looks, sturdy build, good engine but unreliable-this is why people the" mass" flock to BMW, Alfa Romeo, Honda, Toyota, Subaru etc.. these cars are hardly in the dealerships only for routine maintence and your out.... now if Gm would turn back the clock and build cars like a 78 olds supreme (solid car) well maybe I would give it a thumbs up-these days the engines are even sealed forcing you to take it to dealers -they are so complex and for what just keep it simple bring the back the old chevy novas from the 70's there still running .....The day I would tell people to buy american cars is the day they are built 100% with no headaches, reliable-like Toyotas and Hondas saving hardworkers money and not taking it away ....
This is Chevy's answer to the Camry? Stop playing. This is a combination Camry knockoff, Mustang knockoff, and Audi knockoff. Another attempt by GM to knock Toyota off of their game. GM just doesn't get it. American's don't like copycats, we are original. One of a kind. This knockoff is another failed attempt to rival the market leader. American's don't want more of the same. American's want originality with long lasting quality. Wouldn't it be better if GM asked Camry and Accord owners what they would like in their next car if quality and dependability were no longer a factor? GM has again decided that they understand what American's want and deliver the Malibu. Ask and you shall receive.
General Motors will never win me back as a customer. They just don't get it! So many of us have been victims of their poor quality and unreliable performance for years! And then I found Honda. I will never buy another American Brand Name vehicle again.
It's too late to win back America's business, Chevrolet...We still don't trust you!

Ganesh ! ! ! take ur lightning fast jet powered rice burners back to toyland: were talking real cars here, quality, smooth ride, very nice handling, NOT TO MENTION AMERICAN MADE, yes, I know accord and camry, TOY atta, gas guzzler Taundra, are also made here in the good ole U.S. of A. but their is no way not in this life time side by side, not fast or speed talkers, just good old fashion good car riding, dont confuse yourself, grow up dude,
Last August I rented 2008 Impala for two weeks while vacationing in California. It was the first American made car I've driven in years and was very pleased with it. When I buy my next car I will consiser a Chevrolet again.
For all of you who love to b*tch about how the newest Chevy rips off design cues from other makes, here is a news flash: take a good, hard look at most of the recent Acura's and Honda's. Seems to me i've seen most of those designs somewhere else, oh, say from a little German company called BMW. Oh, and by the way, Mercedes and BMW just called, they want you to know that the newest, oversized Honda Accord is NOT original in any sense of the word. Get a grip.....you loosers just love to sound smart by saying how you will never own an American car, well fine, so be it. But the Chevy Malibu is no worse than anything that is being imported from Japan. And p.s. : there are a lot of really UGLY cars being imported by the likes of Nissan And Toyota right now. The newest Camary makes me want to throw up.
I believe that Chevy has always been a leader in my mind, let us bring back the American spirit and congratulate GM on a job well done. If we keep talking foreign, who is going to make it better for our country. let's work together and make it happen.
GORGEOUS ! This car is AMERICAN ! To everyone who is blasting American carmakers for lousy cars and switched to Toyota.......my neighbors 2005 Camry has been back and forth in the shop so many times that he wanted to keep the loaner !
The only way that Chevy could ever hope to possibly compete with Camry or Accord, is to build a quality vehicle comparable in quality, reliability and durability, with Toyota and Honda, and then give it some pizazz in styling, and price it at a reasonable notch under both Toyota and Honda. Consumers are'nt dumb enough to buy an american name, that claims it is comparable in quality with the Japanese. GM will have to earn that respect by proving the car over time.
The Malibu is to a Camry as a pin stripe is to chrome. The party is long over and the band has packed up and gone home. GM has had 30+ years to watch Toyota and Honda show them how to build a quality vehicle but they refused to pay attention.
J.D. POWERS' surveys have a number of the GM lines as the top rated along with many of the Japanese and European. GM is actually making some strides in quality, now if as this article states.... make something that looks good and I think alot of US will buy. Face it, when you go to a showroom or used lot.... what goes through your mind? "Man I like the look of that one!!!!"
In 2001 I purchased a 1999 Malibu with 39,000 miles on the clock. Six years later -- now up to 90,000 miles -- I am still driving it! I have never had an ounce of trouble, I do service it regularly, and it has been one of the best investments I ever made. In the 2007 edition of Jack Gillis's THE CAR BOOK, published by The Center for Auto Safety, the 2007 Malibu was the ONLY American made automobile to earn a "Best" rating. The reviews for the 2008 models seem to confirm the excellence of this automobile. I would rush out and buy one except that my '99 Malibu shows no sign of soon giving up the ghost!

And forgot to mention about:
1. Stolen Acura back finish
2. Twin Grills: Stolen a while back from Audi
3. Stolen Back cluster shape from Infinity
And the Interiors (especially the door controls) reminds me of mt 2000 Camry....Come on..!

I think this will be a great seller for Chey. Sleek and priced to sell and it is born in America and not a gas hog!

The best midsized Chevy I have ever seen ! If it rides as good as it looks it will be a winner.
Ashley (11/24/07 @ 11:28PM)
It's made in the USA. It's not painted with lead. It wont be re-called due to lack of intelligence. What more do I need to say?
