The exterior and interior styling of the 08 Malibu is a nice change. There are four aspects of the car, that at first glance, would prevent me from buying one. First, the guage layout on the dash is not attractive at all. Second, the rear of the car is to americanly astatic. Third, the posted gas mileage isn't anything to write home about. Finally, why would Chevrolet spend so much time, effort and money redesigning a car to compete with the Camry and still call it the Malibu? A new name is deserving if Chevrolet wants to change the image of the car, after all, what is in a name is everything!
I am just about sick and tired of hearing from boring, souless people the following 2 statements. # 1. "it's so hard to find good help these days". and # 2. "I will NEVER drive an American car because the imports are so much better. Give me a break. We all know that for a number of years detroit was guilty of putting out some real clunkers. But they are, for the most part, working hard to turn that around. And btw, take a look at recent statistics. Toyota has had a record number of recalls as of late. Oh, and by the way, check out the most recent J.D. Power rankings. Buick tied for 1st place in total quality with Lexus. Yes, that's right. Buick. And just in case your Jap blinded eyes can't see the REAL truth, the most recent Camary is butt ugly! Not to mention the 2008 Accord is just about as bloated and overgrown as anything that has come out of Detroit in the last few years. It's ok though, I can't hear you idiots talking about how great your 2001 Camary is, because the throaty growl of my V-8 Mustang drowns out your pathetic wimpy Jap fart can exhaust anyday. (P.S.- when did a '96 Honda Civic become a RACE CAR?? Oh yeah, it DIDN'T)

Bill, you must be a little 20-something or having a mid-life crisis driving your Mustang. Detroit...and that includes your friendly Ford made mustang, has for years as you have already mentioned built and sold CRAP! Just because they marginally bring the quality up is no reason to run back to them...they had to raise their quality...they're dying! You can try to fool people for just so long before they sniff you out and size you up. Yeah American cars for the most part have had more interesting styling than Japanese cars have had, but crap is crap no matter how you try and pretty it up. I would like to see American cars built better...much better than they have been. But it's going to take a few years of them doing that with reliability records to prove it too before you see the masses trust them again. They screwed the American people for so long with their products...they have to reap what they sowed. As for you Bill, you probably voted for Bush...twice!
I was just curious GANESH, you like to b*tch about how the newest Chevy rips off design cues from other makes. Well take a good, hard look at most of the recent Acura's. Seems to me i've seen most of those designs somewhere else, oh, say from a little German company called BMW. Oh, and by the way, Mercedes and BMW just called, they want you to know that the newest, oversized Honda Accord is NOT original in any sense of the word. Get a grip.....
brntorange : Pretty funny!. Mid life crisis, that's a good one. I'm 30 And I NEVER voted for that piece of crap George W. Bush thank you very much. I have owned several differeent cars from several different makes and the ONLY time I ever had any car trouble was with a 2001 Honda that had transmission issues at 75,000 miles. So I am only speaking from what i have learned.

Forgot to mention about the Acura back finish and the stolen Audi double grill in the front
