The exterior of the new Camaro has a very appealing style to it. The design team that designed the interior and particularly the gauges have gone to a bit too close to a cartoon design. The dash cluster with the round gauges inside a square opening is okay however I particularly dislike the cone shape of the gauge itself and the lack of increment definition. I would like to see a complete redesign of the gauges and the seating. Additionally I'm a bit underwhelmed with the design of the wheels.
I love this car! The gauges are perfect, the gear shift is sweet and even though I love the steering wheel I know it won't stay that "cool" looking due to air bags as the article mentions. The whole package is right on in my eyes, the only thing I wasn't thrilled over is the front grill/lights and rear lights. The front seems a little bit to "CARS, the movie" ish for me - looks like it is alive which I understand they wanted that "meanest street fighting dog" look but I think it's more the curve of the grill looking like a devilish grin - maybe if the cutout for the lights were straight it wouldn't remind me of Owen Wilson's character in the movie! The rear shape is fine, I just don't like the tail lights, the shape looks like half closed/tired eyes. If they made them full, even height vs 3/4" height I think it would look better. Even though I wasn't gung ho on those 2 things I still think all around it is an awesome design and much better looking in style than the modern car design. I'd buy it! It would bring me back to when I had my kickin' Camaro! Great job, don't stray too much from this concept!!!
