Buick would be wise and perhaps do well by introducing a more youthful 2 door coupe into the line up. Buick very much has the reputation of being an "old man's" car, and the strictly 4 door line up very much reinforces that. I do like the comfort and even the appearance of the current Buicks, but personally can't get past the 4 door sedan/old man stereotype. If they would even make the current Lucerne or Lacrosse in a shortened 2 door variant, they might be just palatable enough for the younger crowd, including myself. At least Buick would be attracting a broader, and younger generation of buyers at that point.
They also need to not think of 2 door coupes necessarily as "specialty" or "sport" vehicles. I think both Chevy with the Camaro and Chrysler with the Challenger are making the mistake of being to high end and exclusive. The original appeal of those vehicles was that they were affordable to the masses and could be customized inexpensively. The latest generation with their stock oversize tires, chop tops, and low rider stance will only appeal to a very select market. Mustang's mainstream features and price got it right and continues to appeal to the masses.
