Saturn VUE vs. Jeep Patriot (5 of 12)
Both the Saturn VUE and Jeep Patriot are average CUVs struggling for sales in an overcrowded segment. The recently redesigned VUE is a marked improvement over its predecessor and offers a high-performance Red Line version and two hybrids - the VUE Green Line and upcoming VUE 2 Mode Hybrid. While the Patriot lacks choice compared to the VUE, it offers what many buyers have always wanted - an efficient, comfortable Jeep. It's the spiritual successor to the classic Cherokee, and with a brand new interior for 2009, it narrowly wins out over the new VUE.
WINNER: Jeep Patriot

I whole heartily disagree with it... the Patriot is nasty, both inside and out.

VUE FTW!

Yeah, but if there has to be a choice, the Patriot's going away. GM has way too many plans in store for the VUE to put it out to pasture.
But I don't think the Patriot's going anywhere. Chrysler will be consolidated down to the Caravan, Wrangler, Patriot, and Grand Cherokee.

Pretty obvious that Auto Blog is General Motors They voted in fovour of most of their vehicles. G M mergers with Chrysler it will be just another auto manufactreur

Totally agree with Philip Lane. If the Patriot survives it becomes a badge job of the Vue. If you kill the Caliber and the Compass Belvidere Assembly needs a new product. You can't keep that whole plant complex running on Patriot sales alone. This plant is likely one GM will want to keep but they will need a new product for it.

I'm on the fence with this one. While I can't wait to see the results from the Vue 2-Mode Hybrid, I really like the relatively classic size of the Patriot, especially one with AWD. I'd axe the Caliber & Compass and keep the Patriot. Maybe add a 2-dr version as a small, open-top soft-roader to compliment the Wrangler.
