    Fiat recalls almost 4,000 500e electric vehicles because of a potentially troubling cruise-control glitch.

    Even thought demand in California for the Fiat 500e electric vehicle is growing, the fun little EV is about to grown its sales to the north. Fiat US chief Jason Stoicevich tells Wards Auto that sales of the EV will start in Oregon this summer, adding that green-minded Portland will likely be a strong market for the model.

    As suspected, AeroVironment has just partnered up with its fifth major automaker, inking a deal with Fiat to be its preferred supplier for the all-electric Fiat 500e. That makes five automakers that have chosen AeroVironment as its home charging partner – the other four being Nissan, BMW, Mitsubishi and Ford.

    Diesel-powered vehicles beat electric vehicles and hybrids – hands down – according to Bob Lee, head of global powertrain at Fiat and Chrysler. Lee made the comments recently at the CAR Management Briefing's Advanced Powertrain Forum in Traverse City, MI, and we assume for some they are fighting words.
