yea Hyundai does tend to take a lot of style from they're competitors, but they've increasingly proven themselves more adept at doing it right. This one does look pretty good, and i'd say its more of a poor man's Acura RL than a Lexus. I also prefer the concept much more, but this one really isnt too bad and would likely snag alot of eyes. And if it had all the accoutrements of an Acura/Lexus they're aiming for, performs almost as well, and keeps that Hyundai warranty, i'd say you've got a winner! (Hey, even the poor man needs something he can be proud of stepping into).
Looks very good, I don't know what some here want? It has the look of the now familiar Azera Sedan and it is indeed original. I was hoping the Concept would be designed in a way that it would not resemble a Toyota Camry so much and I'm happily surprised with where they went with this design.
Nice Job Hyundai, I wish I could see the tail lights though.
What a poor effort proving Hyundai hasn't yet come of age. This car looks like a mangled version of a BMW 5 Series with a few borrowed lines from a Lexus. I'd pay 30K any day for a sporty Camry instead of this junk. Nothing much about this car is original except for maybe that hideous grill and then even that looks like it came from what was left of an old SsangYong.
I'm disappointed with the fact that the actual sedan doesn't resemble the concept much. However, I'm still pleased with what they have done so far. The design seems to be better as I get to see them more often. Besides, it's just the beginning for Hyundai to compete with other luxury sedans. I'm sure they'll come up with more unique and sophisticated design and impressions followed by Genesis. It may be less expensive but considering its performance, it's not really right to say that it's a car for a poor man. I would rather say that it's a car for a smart'er' man.-meaning it's not stupid to buy expensive car with great performances. I am so sure that I love the new Hyundai more than ever.
i understand all car manufactures design their new cars to fit their new owners in comfort and respectable gas mileage.but what i don't understand is the gas mileage figures haven'nt improved in 10 years.i own a late 90's american 4-door sedan that is considered full sized, sits 6 adults, rides beautiful, big trunk and gets 19 city and 30 highway.i bet today's cars don't get better than that. lexus's biggest sedan 460h,just went hybrid ($70,000 plus) and its highway economy is 28 !! all that high-tech expense when an american 4.6L does the same job. i think all they really offer is an arcade of electronic dashboard toys. i work for an american car manufacture and admit they lost the ball when they thought quantity over quality.the sad thing was that alot of good people lost their jobs where the company execs who ran the bussiness kept theirs and made millions. nothing changes.
Hyundai spent $540 Million and 4 years on this platform and studied what people like and then designed this platform (Genesis is the first off of this platform). So they did do their R&D and spent the money to learn what needs to be done.
With the new look, power, Price and Warranty, I have do doubt that every single one that gets on the lot will be sold. I personally am thinking about buying one, once I see it in person.
Hyundai is proving once again that you can make a good car that has a great amount of features and looks like a luxury brand that anyone can afford. This car looks very much like a Lexus GS model and has alot of similar lines. It is definitely a poor mans Lexus GS. Hyundai has made much improvement in crash tests and safety and is improving alot in reliability and customer satisfaction. I just hope that they keep their models affordable to everyone. This car looks like a winner and i wont be surprised if it is a good as it looks to become the 2009 car of the year !
