That's better! Cos the new Impreza for the consumer market is a dog of a looking car. I've just seen one last week in the flesh. And I have tried to be objective about the new shape. BUT... I really don't think the enthusiast market that SUBARU have attracted over the last 10 years or so will stay with this car! I've commented to Subaru Australia on this matter, and they naturally will disagree. After all, they have to sell the bloody thing in large umbers, and are hunting for market share against Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, and many others. And that's fair enough, but it is a pity, when Subaru started with a clean sheet of paper that the designers couldn't have come up with a car that has a less controversial appearance. And it has started already. Magazines and public opinion is at the very least mixed, and this needn't have been the case. Those responsible at Fuji Heavy Industries will no doubt easily justify the look of the new car, after all it was signed off by the top brass, BUT it is a pity that this car doesn't have a more tasteful presence..! I could have designed a better looking.. EASILY. And yet, as the bean counters will soon likely find out, when showroom feedback commences in September, the market will decide, and SUBARU will soon know whether this car gains acceptance by the number of signed orders. Speaking of placing orders, I certainly WON'T be placing one! Good luck Subaru, you're going to need a considerable amount of it!!!

I hate the new 08 WRX, I'm still a fan of the 02-03 bug-eyed days. But I must say, if the 08 STI Edition is close to the WRC (sans the roof scoop), I think I'm going to have to upgrade. This is the first Suby I've liked the look of more than bug-eyed version.

Horrible looking car, back to the old skool 93' shape Subarus, before all of bubbly 'toy' car looks. Give me an EVO over this any day of the week!
