Speeding along in a sports car is undoubtedly a ton of fun, but some owners need the ability to carry a lot of people and their stuff and don't want to sacrifice the ability to put the power down. The tuners over at Hennessey have that demographic covered with their growling, supercharged power kits for the GMC Yukon Denali. The upgrades come in three forms for the SUV's 6.2-liter V8: HPE550 with 557 horsepower, HPE600 with 605 hp and HPE650 with 665 hp.
If there are any two firms you could count on to shoehorn a Ferrari V8 into the back of an Alfa Romeo 4C, they would almost certainly be Lazzarini Design and Hennessey Performance. The former already dreamt up doing the same with a Fiat 500, and the latter has been shattering records with a similar conversion performed on a Lotus Elise to turn it into the Venom GT. Now that the Venom GT has earned a Guinness World Record as the quickest car to reach 300 kilometers per hour (186 miles per hour) to go along with its recorded top speed of 270.49 miles per hour (recorded last month at Florida's Kennedy Space Center), Hennessey thinks its time for a celebration. To commemorate the honors, it's building a new "World's Fastest Edition" of the Venom GT, limited to just three units priced at an eye-watering $1.25 million each. Want one? Sorry, it's too late. Hennessey has done it again, improving the claimed record-holding top speed of its Venom GT to 270.49 miles per hour. The record run was made on February 14 on the 3.22-mile landing runway at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The speed was confirmed by a Racelogic Vbox telemetry system, but for a variety of reasons, it will not make it into the Guinness Book of World Records. However, it narrowly beat out the record-holding top speed of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport at 267.81 mph. Amazingl
