MINI Spy Shots
Mini is a brand of small cars that began with the Mark I designed by Sir Alec Issigonis in 1959. Originally sold under the Austin and Morris brand names, Mini became the small car's actual name in 1964. Made famous by one of cinema's best car chases in the film "The Italian Job," the car's design remained relatively unchanged except for different front ends until the all-new Mini Cooper was launched by BMW in 2001.

Spy shooters were able to capture one of the first pics of MINI's fabled pseudo-SUV undergoing testing, and according to the Brits over at AutoExpress, it will carry a 'Monte' moniker when it arrives in showrooms sometime in 2009. While we're equally perplexed by both the notion of a biggie-sized MINI and the name 'Monte', at least the latter rolls off the ...
You might not have known from looking at it, but even after the second-generation new MINI came out, the convertible version carried on from the previous incarnation. But the BMW subsidiary has been hard at work on its replacement, set to join the standard hatchback and the upcoming Clubman wagon in the lineup ahead of the crossover ...
click above image to view all three reportedly official sketches of the Audi A1The folks over at CAR online swear they have three official design sketches of Audi's upcoming MINI-fighter, the A1. Reportedly "smuggled" out of Ingoldstadt's design studio, the sketches show Audi's tiny hatch in three-door trim, though a five-door, coupe and convertible are ...
Although the MINI Clubman has proved to be the worst kept secret from any automaker in recent memory, the one unknown is how BMW's boffins would engineer and design the interior of the stretched Cooper. We knew it would retain the same funked-up, yet toned-down aesthetic of the new R56 MINI, and these stellar shots provided by Gabe over at MotoringFile tell ...
We've seen so many spy shots of the Clubman, we were considering skipping MINI's press conference altogether, but one aspect of the Clubman's physique has remained elusive -- until now. Shots of the hatch of MINI's new elongated compact have surfaced over at km77 and as previous reports have confirmed, it's a vertically split tailgate. A duo of handles, ...
In the timeline of most new car introductions, automotive journalists usually see a new model undisguised well before the public. It's a nice perk. But an even earlier look is often given to a company's public relations staff. Which is what Mini was doing with its Clubman model in Zandvoort, Netherlands. And guess who showed up uninvited? A camera-wielding ...
Those of you mad for MINI, your hour is nearly at hand. With the furor and the spy shots and the commercials, there isn't much left to ponder about MINI's upcoming long-wheelbase Clubman. However, these shots do reveal the other side of the car that isn't seen in these spy shots, in what could be the exclusive Hot Chocolate color. The latest rumor is that ...
Just as MINI is ramping up to launch the Clubman wagon in addition to its current lineup for 2008, rumors are flying about a possible MINI compact sport utility vehicle, reportedly inspired by the Austin Ant and MINI Moke, dunebuggy-ish off-roaders originally designed for the British military. BMW's California DesignWorks studio is apparently already ...
Could this be the B segment car that Alan Mulally obliquely referred to between Shrub jokes during his NYIAS keynote? What we have here is a Mazda Versia, a JDM car that Ford may be considering bringing to the US. That'd explain it tooling around the Dearborn area, and it looks like it was snagged in California a while ago, too. It'd slot nicely under the ...
The MINI Traveller, or as it should now be officially called, the Clubman, has been revealed to us in concept form as well as heavily camouflaged spy pics, but these new spy shots found on The Car Connection reveal a completely undisguised mule undergoing testing. Sporting a wheelbase probably longer than the original MINI itself, the Traveller adds at ...
