Mini Auto Show Coverage

Mini is a brand of small cars that began with the Mark I designed by Sir Alec Issigonis in 1959. Originally sold under the Austin and Morris brand names, Mini became the small car's actual name in 1964. Made famous by one of cinema's best car chases in the film "The Italian Job," the car's design remained relatively unchanged except for different front ends until the all-new Mini Cooper was launched by BMW in 2001.

Report: Mini Clubvan concept gets green light, headed for U.S. showrooms
    1334946480

Color us unsurprised. Car and Driver reports that Mini officials have confirmed a production version of the company's Clubvan concept first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We expected as much – after all, parent BMW has demonstrated real adeptness at building a myriad of derivatives from the basic Mini Cooper architecture, and the boutique ...

New York: Mini Cooper Yachtsman Concept has us all fooled
    1333751400

We love Mini's sense of humor, and its April Fools' Day pranks this year were among our favorites. While we really, really wanted the Cowley camper to be real, Mini actually went ahead and built the Amphibious "Yachtsman" – and then brought it to the New York Auto Show, just as promised to in its fake April 1 press release. Considering that some ...

Geneva: Mini Clubvan Concept loses a few seats, gains storage capacity
    1331100000

Looking rather production-ready on the floor of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is the Mini Clubvan Concept, which eschews the rear seat of the Clubman in favor of a flat load floor and a partition to cordon off your goods from your two front seats. According to Mini, the "Clubvan Concept would fit excellently into the fleet of a fashion designer, art gallery ...

Geneva: 2013 Mini John Cooper Works Countryman packs an up-sized punch
    1331087280

It was only a matter of time before Mini spiced up its Countryman crossover with the application of its go-fast John Cooper Works kit, and it's now made an official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Boasting 211 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque (up to 221 on overboost), the 2013 JCW Countryman is the most powerful production machine ever to ...

Official: 2013 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works most powerful yet
    1330470000

With a model like the Countryman in its lineup, Mini may not be so mini anymore. At least not in an absolute sense. But since BMW has remade the brand in its own image, Minis have become mini BMWs. That's certainly the case with John Cooper Works – the brand's the performance label – which Mini's CEO, Dr. Kay Segler, intends to expand to ...

Official: Mini reveals Clubvan Concept ahead of Geneva debut
    1329606000

It's a Mini. It's a van. But it's not a minivan. That's because the sort of van we're talking about here is a panel van – think of the Ford Transit Connect or recently departed Chevrolet HHR Panel – a vehicle with two seats up front, a partitian behind the cockpit and nothing but a flat load floor in back. These little workaday runabouts are ...

Detroit: 2013 Mini Roadster improves upon new Coupe's formula
    1326157080

As much as we like the new-for-2012 Mini Coupe, some of us on the Autoblog staff aren't won over by the low-slung hardtop. We love the standard Cooper hatchback, and while the Coupe's driving dynamics are pure Mini goodness, we just can't wrap our heads around the awkward styling (especially in certain color pallets), limited visibility and lack of ...
