The German company is now operated by Daimler-Benz and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. In addition to producing automobiles, Mercedes-Benz also makes commercial trucks and buses in Europe.

We all knew that Mercedes-Benz couldn't afford to resist the small SUVover segment for much longer. After all, it seems to be the fastest-growing segment in the galaxy, and in particular, it's the premium niche of that class – led by the hugely successful Land Rover Evoque and BMW X1 – that is making these smaller vehicles more viable and ...
Mercedes-Benz and Cigarette Racing have quite a history of teaming up to create some truly impressive marine machines. We've seen Cigarette boats inspired by the Black Series line, the SLS AMG E-Cell, even the pugnacious G63 AMG. So, it's not a huge surprise that the automaker and boat-builder have joined forces yet again, this time on the occasion of the ...
Fashion can be difficult to understand, especially for us literal-minded car enthusiasts, but Mercedes-Benz AMG is making things very simple with its new fashion line. Its new line of Burn Out Bags, along with German label Destroy vs. Beauty, are made by running over high-quality leather with high-performance cars and making goods out of the resulting ...
For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents. Looking at first-owner cars ...
When debuting its Concept S-Class Coupe at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz made it no secret that the luxury coupe previewed a future model. As it turns out, Mercedes might as well have unveiled the car then, because the production 2015 S-Class Coupe is practically identical to the shapely showcar. The production coupe will be unveiled at ...
With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car. First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by ...
Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler has finally decided to go to its proverbial mothership to further expand its Car2go carsharing service in Europe. The German automaker has long used its itty-bitty Smart Fortwo vehicles for the program, but now it's kicking off a pilot program called Car2go Black that will share Mercedes-Benz B-Class models in Berlin and ...
Contrary to what most marketing tells us, progress is not always forward. Sometimes a product nails the balance of what consumers want so perfectly that it's nearly impossible to improve on it – just compare the original Ford Mustang to the atrocious Mustang 2. Drive's Chris Harris is worried the same fate is about to befall the Mercedes-Benz C63 ...
Hey, Mercedes-Benz. I love you guys. Seriously. I recently had a blast driving your hot little CLA45 AMG for a week, but now I'm looking for something... bigger. Something a little more, shall we say, robust. Something I can use to really explore the urban Detroit landscape. And lo, according to your Facebook page, it appears you've brought a G63 AMG 6x6 ...
It's not everyday that the opportunity arises to buy a car that is truly one of a kind, and it's even rarer for that car to have once held the title of fastest in the world. However, that is exactly the claim with this 1995 Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000 that is up for auction on eBay Motors. As the story goes, the C1000 was originally built at the behest of ...
If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with ...
There's a coterie of six-figure professionals who have been waiting for this car, their dental office parking lots and showcase home driveways pining without end for the facelifted 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet. Mercedes lists the Cadillac CTS Coupe and Audi A5 among the competitive set in the premium medium-size segment, but we feel that's a bit ...
The Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class basically invented the four-door coupe niche when the first generation was unveiled in 2004. While it had less practicality than a traditional sedan, it made up for it with tons of style. The second generation continued the lineage in 2010, albeit with a less bulbous shape than the original. The refresh for the second-gen CLS ...
According to the automaker, the van you see above is "The Mercedes Among MPVs." That statement is undoubtedly true, because it is indeed both a Mercedes-Benz and an MPV, but also because it's quite likely one of the more luxurious ways to move a bunch of people and their stuff from one place to another, regardless of where that may be. As many as eight ...
$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars. When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs – outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings – was why ...
Mercedes AMG Petronas unveiled the new F1 W05 ahead of its first pre-season test in Jerez, Spain, giving the media and other Formula One teams a look at the turbocharged racer. That look didn't last long, though, as Lewis Hamilton promptly stuffed the shiny new racer into a wall earlier this morning. Unlike some of its competitors, the W05 retains a ...
Everyone loves the Stig, and it's hard to blame them. Whether it is the British, American, Australian or even Russian versions of Top Gear, there is something undeniably cool about a mystery man who can lap a track as quick as the top racing drivers in the world. When Google Street View showed up at the Top Gear test track to add it to the mapping ...
Some drivers manage to make the transition from one form of motor racing into another, and some run into trouble. Take Paul di Resta, for example. The promising young Scottish driver dominated Formula 3 racing in Europe in 2006, then moved over to Germany's hugely competitive DTM touring car series where he finished second in 2008, third in 2009 and first ...
Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche is pretty confident about the imminence of self-driving cars. Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles? Not so much. He didn't even get into the possibility of self-driving fuel-cell vehicles, but we're okay taking future technologies one at a time. Zetsche, in an interview from the Detroit Auto Show last week, said the automotive ...
Smart, the Daimler-owned brand that has done nothing but struggle in the US market, probably won't be getting a larger model. A new four-seater called the ForFour is slated to go on sale in Europe later this year. A final decision hasn't been made on US sales of the ForFour, but according to the head of Smart, Annette Winkler, there are concerns that the ...
