Review: 2011 Mazda2
Mazda Perfects the Fun-to-Footprint Ratio Bigger used to mean better, but in the modern era, that old chestnut no longer applies. Mobile phones aren't the size of a brick, we can fit 2,000 songs in our pocket and this review was written on a computer that fits neatly on an airplane's tray table. Sometimes smaller is better, and here's a vehicle that proves it. While the 2011 Mazda2 might not be out to redefine the subcompact segment, it does offer something largely lacking from the rest of the pack: fun. But are Mazda's Zoom-Zoom driving dynamics enough to overlook its shortcomings ... Read More

0Spy Shots: If this is it, the Mazda1 looks nothing like Kiyora concept 1237987560
UPDATE: This is not a prototype for the Mazda1, it is a Chinese-market Haima subcompact based on the Mazda2. Thanks to everyone who sent in the correctionWhen we were told that the Mazda Kiyora concept unveiled at last year's Paris Motor Show would influence Mazda's coming city car, it looks like we overestimated the word "influence." Spy Shots: Mazda2 sedan spotted in Death Valley 1212532320
Amazing how $4-per-gallon gas can make us sit up and notice formerly innocuous economy cars. In all fairness, cars like the Mazda2 have always shown brightly on our radar. Although the previous generation of the Mazda 2 was not available in the US, recent gas spikes could allow the vehicle to hit US shores. Ford Motor ...

The ...

Spy Shots: Mazda2 in the Golden State 1166742120
Although at first appearing to be a mini-me version of Porsche's Cayenne SUV, the image you see here is actually believed to be a test mule for Mazda's upcoming Mazda2. Caught in testing in California by Hidden Image photographer Antoine Guilbaud, the new supermini doesn't look anything like the Mazda2 we're aware of being sold overseas, but that's because ...

Spy Shots: Mazda2 replacement shaping up 1158339240
Seen here is what we believe to be the replacement for Mazda's recently freshened Mazda2/Demio. The folks at World Car Fans are at it again with these photos of a mildly disguised Ford Fiesta derivative that seems to be wearing a lot of Mazda styling cues. The most likely guess is that this will become the new Mazda2. Although this Mazda saw two facelifts ...
