Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk
Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away. ... Read More

The .38 caliber lenses of KGP have shot another vehicle wide out in the open, and this time the 2008 Jeep Liberty has found itself in the photog's sights. Bad Credit? No Credit? Chrysler doesn't care either 1158185340
Anything you can do, I can do better... so sang Bingo and so says DaimlerChrysler to Ford. Zero-percent financing options are now available for up to 72 months on the ...

Jeep Commander wins U.K. 4x4 of the year award 1157917980
The U.K. publication, 4x4 Magazine, has voted the Jeep Commander "4x4 Of The Year 2007". Apparently they've dropped the swimsuit competition. Seriously though, this is one ugly truck, but ugly can work for certain market segments and this is one of them. And who says a vehicle needs to look good to work right? Sure we'd prefer CX-7 styling, but when your ...

Commander: Jeep's white elephant? 1143567120
To its credit, DaimlerChrysler has largely escaped the mudslinging surrounding big incentives as of late, content to let General Motors and Ford play cash-on-the-hood Jenga. But now it appears the square-rigged Jeep Commander may be Chrysler's white elephant. To say that the SUV's sales are in a free-fall would be a bit of a ...
