Hyundai Spy Shots
Hyundai is one of two automotive brands owned and operated by the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group that operates in the US, the other being Kia. The Korean company entered the US market in 1986 with the Excel, which sold well but established a poor reputation for quality. Quality concerns were addressed with the introduction of the industry's longest powertrain warranty. Hyundai has also expanded its lineup to include larger cars, luxury vehicles, sports cars, CUVs and SUVs.

Hyundai gave us a tease of its second-gen Genesis sedan courtesy of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept displayed at this year's Detroit Auto Show, and while we've seen numerous spy shots of the car testing since (both on and off the track), all were heavily camouflaged. That all changed today when the South Korean site bobaedream.co.kr posted an image of the new ...
It's always a good day when we get to post a video about rally racing. It's even better when that video is of a new WRC competitor undergoing testing. This spy video shows Hyundai's i20 WRC, a car that debuted nearly one year ago at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. It's set to usher in Hyundai's return to top-flight motorsports, and will do battle with the cars ...
The sixth-generation Hyundai Sonata helped usher in a stylish era for the previously boring midsize sedan segment. After four years on the market, though, some of the Sonata's rivals are newer and arguably more stylish, so it's not surprising that Hyundai appears to be in the early phases of a redesign for its popular sedan. From what we can see in these ...
The so-called Hyundai Mini-Sonata now has a proper name. Called the Mingtu in China, this new sedan will slot in between the compact Elantra and midsize Sonata, and it sports a pretty nifty look. We've known for a while now that Hyundai is working on a more mature version of its Fluidic styling language, the first fruits of which showed up in the latest ...
The launch of the next-generation Hyundai Genesis is drawing closer and closer, and this latest set of spy shots gives us our best look yet at the Korean automaker's new sedan. Caught testing on the Nürburgring, we're not only getting a better look at the finer details of the Hyundai's exterior, but this set of photos gives us a clear view inside the ...
Hyundai is still working on getting its next-generation Genesis sedan ready for production, and while these spy shots don't reveal much more of the car's new design than what we saw back in December, our spy photographer did manage to catch an important detail being added to the big sedan. In addition to its rumored 10-speed automatic transmission, it ...
Don't let those Kias in the back of this photo fool you – the camouflaged car you're looking at here is the next-generation Hyundai Genesis. Remember, we've already seen Kia's new rear-wheel-drive flagship – the oh-so-suavely named Quoris – so this big roller is indeed the successor to Hyundai's Genesis sedan. Codenamed "DH," the ...
This is the part of the post where we usually make confident statements about the brand-new vehicle that our intrepid spy photographers have just caught. But this time, we'll be honest: We have no idea what the heck this thing is. Some discussion 'round the proverbial Autoblog water cooler suggests that this could be, well, just about anything. The ...
It won't be long before we see the official reveal of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, but predictably, the Internet won't be kept waiting. Consider us unsurprised that a set of grainy photos showing what is claimed to be a badgeless redesigned Santa Fe crossover has appeared ahead of schedule. That said, we're thinking the chrome-heavy maw depicted in these ...
Here it is, ladies and gents – the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe. The svelte new two-door will make its official debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in just a few weeks, but our intrepid spy photographers managed to catch this completely uncovered prototype on the back of a flatbed truck. Not surprisingly, the new coupe relies heavily on the same ...
We've already seen some pretty decent spy shots of Hyundai's facelifted Genesis Coupe, expected to arrive shortly carrying a 2013-model-year designation. But this low-res image from TheCarBlogger.net appears to be our first official look at the car, sitting low and mean on a racetrack. The outgoing Genesis Coupe's front end was never exactly a model of ...
We're big fans of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe here at Autoblog. We're also fans of vehicles that find ways to make our driving experience more exciting in any way possible. And while it would be nice to see Hyundai plop its 5.0-liter V8 engine under the hood of the Genesis coupe, there is little chance of that ever happening. (Probably for good reason, ...
Hyundai is preparing to reveal the facelifted 2013 Genesis Coupe, and we now have what is perhaps our best look yet at the updated car's Veloster-ified front fascia thanks to the folks over at Hyundai-Blog. We won't see the final design until closer to the car's 2012 Detroit Auto Show debut in January, but after plenty of camera phone shots and spy ...
We recently stumbled upon some grainy photos of what appeared to be a completely uncovered 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, showing off its new Veloster-inspired nose. Now, our intrepid spy photographers have caught a pair of Genesis Coupes out testing in the Death Valley heat, showing off the brand new nose. These prototypes appear to either be the top-trim ...
Right on the heels of the 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan refresh, the sportier Genesis Coupe is due for a pretty substantial overhaul next year. Seen here running around Germany's Nürburgring, the heavy camouflage at the front and rear means that a host of styling updates are in order, and we're sure that some powertrain enhancements are in the works, as ...
Where would you expect to find Santa Fe? Why, in the desert, of course! And that's just where this Hyundai prototype was heading to undergo hot-weather testing. But on the way, the engineers apparently needed to take a rest, and our intrepid team of spy photographers found this test mule sitting in the parking lot of a motel. The result is our first look ...
Hyundai debuted the refreshed 2012 Genesis Sedan at this year's Chicago Auto Show, and in addition to revised styling and a brand new 5.0-liter V8, the Korean sedan's 3.8-liter V6 gets a slew of enhancements. By adding direct injection, the V6 now makes 333 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque – gains of 43 and 27, respectively, over the ...
Take a look-see at what slipped out of Hyunda HQ via the miracle of Twitter. Despite the best efforts of one very dedicated member of Hyundai's PR team, the 2011 Elantra managed to show the internet some skin ahead of its debut at the LA Auto Show. The new Korean economy fighter is fabled to break the 40 mpg barrier across the board all while wearing the ...
Our gadget-filled world means we almost always have a camera at the ready. Reader James W. was out and about on the highways of Southern California when he spied a camo-clad Hyundai on the move. With his iPhone 3GS at hand, he was able to snap a few photos of what appears to be the upcoming 2012 Hyundai Veloster. The wheels and most of the lines match a ...
It's no secret that we Autobloggers are big fans of wagons. Unfortunately, the market here in the United States isn't as wagon-friendly as those in other corners of the world, and because of this, there are very few examples to choose from – most automakers would rather introduce crossovers, as it's a significantly bigger (and growing) ...
