Honda Auto Show Coverage

Honda is a Japanese automaker offering a full lineup of vehicles in the US, including the Acura brand of luxury vehicles. Established in 1946 by Soichiro Honda, the company produced only motorcycles in its early days. Honda began operations in the US back in 1959, though didn't sell cars here until the fuel-efficient Civic arrived in 1973 at the outset of this country's first energy crisis. Well known as a leader in engineering, Honda also still produces a full line of motorcycles, as well as power equipment like lawnmowers and generators.

    1348778340

Honda has failed to set the world on fire with its seemingly sporty hybrid coupe, but it's not entirely for lack of effort. And for 2013, the Japanese automaker is refining its CR-Z with a host of updates designed to pin its dynamics a bit more on the side of sporty performance. And, as you can see above, it's now 100-percent more purpley than ...

    1348518480

Back in the salad days before the financial upheaval of 2008, Honda's Acura division was reportedly planning to build not one, but two new NSX models. The first was/is the on again off again heir to the NSX throne (then a V10 rear-drive supercar, now the much ballyhooed hybrid all-wheel-drive affair revealed at January's Detroit Auto Show). The second was ...

Honda's Japanese web site has a short slideshow revealing three new features of the next little hybrid hatchback. The scant bit of text is all in Japanese, naturally, so we don't know how the ...

The bottom one looks like some sort of people mover, with lines that seem drawn from ...

    1333568700

This is the 2013 Honda Crosstour Concept, along with its "more capable-looking styling" that's been revealed today at the New York Auto Show. Honda is re-aiming the Crosstour at "active consumers," so those new capable looks come down to foglights shrouded in embossed polygons, and the soft-roader rugged-esque front bumper, and dark trim skirting the ...

Honda has announced it will debut a concept version of the 2013 Crosstour at the New York Auto Show next month. Geneva: Honda fits Jazz Si debut onto Geneva stand
    1331503260

The Honda Fit (Jazz in most other markets) has been a decent success here in the States. It's economical, somewhat fun to drive and not painful to look at. But it just seems to lack something. Oh, right, sportiness and a bright red Si badge! To earn the Si designation, the versatile econocar was given new dampers, a larger front anti-roll bar, and ...

Honda has unveiled a prototype version of the upcoming European CR-V ahead of the model's debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show. At first glance, the tall-riding ...

Exclusive: Why did Honda kill its best performance engine?
    1328808540

The performance profile of the turbo four may have doomed it to being merely a footnote in Honda's illustrious history. When the 2013 Acura RDX launches this spring, Honda will quietly close down a spur line of its Anna, OH, plant. Since 2006, it had been building the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine used in the first-generation RDX there. These ...

Pandora may be becoming a standard on every major OEM infotainment system, but all-you-can-eat subscription music services haven't gained the same momentum or widespread adoption. MOG is aiming to change that with automotive partnerships with BMW and Mini, but its just-announced tie-up with Aha Radio extends MOG's reach even further, and it has wider ...

Report: Honda EV-STER headed for production
    1323986520

Combining electric propulsion with a performance orientation is a delicate balance. Tesla managed to pull it off to some success. Audi has toyed with the idea with its E-Tron concepts. And some have been experimenting with bringing F1's KERS regenerative braking system to road-going sports cars. Honda, for its part, tried to nail it down with the CR-Z, ...
