0Geneva: The Fiat 500 GQ Edition is not all that it appears to be 1362603600
With Fiat's business model effectively previewed by rival Mini's moves toward success throughout the years, it's certainly no surprise to see the Italianate 500 start to cough up some limited edition models. The 500C has already, and famously teamed with Gucci (via a small J.Lo kerfuffle) and now Fiat has brought a 500 GQ Edition to Geneva, presumably for ...

As a reporter covering an auto show, the one opportunity you never want to miss is going to the Sergio Marchionne press briefing. "This undertaking to bring Alfa back is a one-shot deal... We are not going to do this twice." There just aren't that many real characters left in the auto industry. Marchionne, who sits atop both Chrysler and Fiat, is ...

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime – certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing. It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And ...

The only thing is that some of these cars equipped with the head unit for Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment system were not optioned up with navigation at the time of purchase, leaving drivers looking for ...

Report: Spitballs flying between Nissan and Fiat 1354834980
At the 2012 LA Auto Show, Fiat brand chief and recently crowned marketing genius, Olivier François, attempted to distance the Fiat 500e from other electric vehicles, asking rhetorically, "Isn't ugliness the worst kind of pollution?" Nissan has apparently taken issue with these comments, feeling slighted for what it considers digs at the Leaf's ...

Fiat hopes sex sells with 500e: "Stop Global Warming, Start Global Hotness" 1354294320
In the 1983 Chevy Chase film "National Lampoon's Vacation," sexiness (at least of the female variety) was personified by Christie Brinkley driving a Ferrari 308 that got about 15 miles per gallon. Nearly three decades later, Fiat brand chief Olivier Francois is pitching a kinder, greener sexy. Speaking at the Los Angeles Auto Show Wednesday afternoon in ...

Los Angeles: 2013 Fiat 500e looks loud, runs quietly 1354153200
Somebody wanted it, so we all got it – the Fiat 500e, the electric city car packed with enough Earth-saving tech that CEO Sergio Marchionne quipped (admittedly, early last year) that each one built will cost Fiat $10,000. The good news is that it not only comes with tons of EV-only gadgets and features, it does a good job, to our eye, of flaunting ...

Los Angeles: 2014 Fiat 500L Trekking takes the hatchback into the big leagues 1354151400
Didn't think it was possible to pull and pry at the diminutive Fiat 500 with enough gumption to make the Italian hatchback qualify as a large car (according to the EPA, at least)? Witness the Fiat 500L Trekking, seen above. It's a full 26-inches longer than the regular 500, and it's grown six-inches taller and wider. All that stretching means there is 42 ...

Los Angeles: 2014 Fiat 500L adds size, refinement and toys to 500 lineup 1354150800
Fiat is taking the lead from Mini and expanding its lineup of mini-me runabouts. The Italian automaker has done the 500 every which way, including convertible and performance models and now even electrified versions. Following this expansion comes the first actual growth in size; the 2014 Fiat 500L. First shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, the ...
