0First Drive: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1368115020
The Fullsize Pickup, Refined No one's underestimating the importance of the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. While General Motors continues to shovel the current generation off dealer lots at an impressive pace, it would be too kind to simply say the old mule has started to show its age. The GMT900 platform that's rolling along under the 2013 model has ...

First Drive: 2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video] 1363363020
Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King? On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog ...

Entering Its Fifth Year Enhanced With A Fresh New Face The full-size crossover segment is chock-full of many decent players, and for good reason. For most buyers, the big vehicles deliver enough of the off-road and towing capabilities of a traditional sport utility, the roominess and high driving position of a minivan, and increasingly, the driving ...

First Drive: 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS [w/video] 1349366220
A Rally Sport Badge Is Exactly What The Doctor Ordered After spending a week with the Chevrolet Sonic LTZ five-door, and realizing how much better it was than its Aveo predecessor, we were excited to get behind the wheel of the all-new 2013 Sonic RS – the gussied-up hatchback seemed to smartly address all of the standard model's minor shortcomings ...

First Drive: 2013 Chevrolet Malibu 2.5 1346774220
Hardly Transformative, But More Than Meets The Eye When we last left our hero, Malibu Man was struggling mightily. Beset by meddlesome marketers and ineffective engineers, allies who had inexplicably trapped him in the dull green glow of an Eco ray, Malibu Man was about to face off against new and stronger nemeses than ever before, foes intent on ...

Who's Going To Hear Chevy's Sub-Sonic Statement? The annals of "Hey you kids, get off my lawn!" took an interesting turn in 2005, when a British inventor developed The Mosquito, an ultrasonic alarm that can only be heard by teenagers. Deployed by convenience stores, property managers and even municipal governments, the device emits sound waves at ...

First Drive: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE 1344009420
Poise Before Power Power isn't everything. We cannot argue with the fact that the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is an immensely fun car to drive on both the road and track. But unless you have a closed course with a proper straightaway to unleash all 580 of those supercharged horses – despite the ZL1 being a rather easy car to manage in everyday driving ...

First Drive: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Wagon 1341935820
Sampling Chevy's New Overseas-Only Wonder Wagon Since it came on the scene in 2009, General Motors' first truly global modern-day product, the Chevrolet Cruze, has become the company's best seller. Over 1.5 million deliveries – admittedly 46 percent to rental fleets, 12 percent to company car fleets and 42 percent as private purchases – have ...

Elevating The Muscle Car Rivalry To A Whole New Level Ford versus Chevy. It's one of the greatest rivalries in the world, joining the likes of Coke versus Pepsi and Michigan versus Ohio State. While the Mustang and Camaro can't be credited as the first two vehicles to start the Blue Oval and Golden Bowtie wars, it's fair to say the two muscle cars kicked ...

Meeting The Next-Generation Chevrolet Mid-Size It's been a very long time since the midsize market went easy on American automakers, and recent years have conspired to make an uphill sales slog even steeper with a rash of new and redesigned models. Kia and Hyundai have taken up arms by offering buyers the stylish and efficient Optima and Sonata in an ...

First Drive: 2012 Chevrolet Caprice PPV 1317398220
Anything But A Trivial Pursuit There's something inherently satisfying about using a blunt force object for its exact purpose, be it ripping the cover off a baseball with a Louisville Slugger or bonking one of those animatronic pop-up varmints with a rubber mallet at the local arcade. At the opposite end of the spectrum, there's something equally ...

First Drive: 2012 Chevrolet Sonic 1316793360
GM Finally Gets the Compact Car Recipe Right We've met the 2012 Chevy Sonic before. Zach Bowman spent some time in a pre-production model earlier this year and his first impressions were favorable, at least on the autocross course. Now that the Sonic is starting to roll into dealers, it's time to find out if Chevy can deliver what neuvo compact buyers ...

First Drive: 2012 Chevrolet Orlando 1313683020
A Seven-Seater That Makes The Grass Look Greener Let's do a quick recap of famous people, places and things that bear the name Orlando. There is the hunky Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, the not-so-hunky actor Tony Orlando, and there was even a 1992 chick-flick entitled, you guessed it, Orlando. While the name doesn't really imply anything uniquely ...

All Convertible, Little Compromise 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible – Click above for high-res image gallery Chevrolet doesn't need any help selling its Camaro. First Drive: 2011 Chevrolet Volt 1287590220
"She Blinded Me With Science" The Chevy Volt has finally, successfully, made the leap from science fiction to fact. Quite a bit has changed in the nearly four-year journey from the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to last week, when General Motors let us drive a production-spec car. The Volt may not be the stuff of Blade Runner, but it's a technologically ...

First Drive: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze sails into new era of small cardom 1280548860
Until now, General Motors hasn't exactly taken the small-car market seriously. While Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai and Kia have built their empires on the hoods of pint-sized, fuel-efficient transportation, history has shown the captains of Detroit tend to offer up parts-bin afterthoughts. Cars like the Chevrolet Cavalier and Cobalt have left a sour ...

First Drive: Callaway SC572 and SC552 is the Chevrolet Camaro done right 1278344640
There are a couple of salient points about the new Chevrolet Camaro that are inescapable. First, it has the looks that kill. And whether or not you dig the Camaro's aesthetics, you can't deny it stands out from the crowd. Actually, that's not the right way to put it – a new Camaro in a mall parking lot is like an economists' convention crashed by ...

First Drive: 2011 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Heavy Duty trucks set new HD standard 1276531080
Usually whenever we head out to a new vehicle press launch, we have to sit through exhaustive technical and marketing presentations before we get a chance to climb behind the wheel. However, General Motors put us straight into a dual-rear wheel GMC Sierra 3500 crew-cab diesel upon our arrival in Baltimore. On the docket? A 130-mile trek from Baltimore ...

First Test: 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 launch control 1250881200
Aside from the addition of the Grand Sport model, the biggest upgrade to the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette lineup is arguably the addition of launch control. The Corvette is by no means the first sports car to get launch control, but judging from our first impression of it this week, it may well be the best system out there. Unlike a certain Japanese ...

First Drive: 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 1250783880
Going into the 2010 model year, the Corvette lineup is growing to four models with the revival of the Grand Sport nameplate that slots in between the base and Z06 models. This is the third iteration of the Grand Sport, the first being a run of just five race-ready cars built by original Vette chief engineer Zora Arkus Duntov. The second batch was a run ...
