When a video touts itself as "probably the greatest hollywood-style RC action movie car chase ever," (sic) you should set yourself up for disappointment. That's not to say that this joint effort, a clearly well-funded partnership between LA Muscle Sports Supplements and Fast & Furious 6, isn't fun and polished, but just lately we've posted some very entertaining small-scale car videos like this and this.

Still, it's cool to watch an R/C Camaro slide wide around turns amidst warehouse shelves full of LA Muscle product. Just as in real life, zooming around gets the attention of the constabulary, and a passel of police cars gives chase, which leads our Camaro protagonist to... J-TURN! It is a cool video, tied to a movie that we know is full of some fantastic cars and you can bet that the full-sizers will do stunts that are even more jaw-dropping.

Invest the minute below, you weren't going to use it, anyway.

A chap who calls himself "Sheepo" has a habit of making custom creations out of Lego bits. These aren't kits, these are the expressions of his own automotive imagination using traditional Lego and Lego Technic parts. His year so far seems mostly devoted to suspension builds and a Land Rover Defender, but his latest work is a Caterham Seven.

Sheepo keeps his builds close to their inspirations, this Seven constructed with working steering, double-wishbone front suspension and Ackerman geometry in front, a three-link De Dion rear suspension in back and disc brakes. A bit of liberty has gone into the gearbox, which is a five-speed sequential unit plus reverse.

At one-seventh scale it is 45 centimeters long, has 2,500 parts and five motors. It is also a Chapman-approved lightweight at just 2.2 kilograms. Check it out in the video below and the high-res gallery of images above.

For video game enthusiasts who can't stand the thought of playing a racing game on a single television screen, using a standard controller and (gasp!) sitting on a couch, there are plenty of realistic racing simulators out there. While better simulators usually include a trio of monitors, a racing chair and appropriate steering wheel and pedals, Costco has what could be the ultimate racing simulator for Formula One fans in the UK with deep pockets and a desire for a life-like gaming experience.

Costing a mere 90,000 British pounds (roughly $136,000), Costco UK sells a simulator mounted to a life-size F1 car that includes plenty of composite, carbon fiber and alloy. It even has full brakes, wheels and tires. The price includes set up and training, but don't expect to pick one up in addition to a 10-pound package of bacon and a 40-count package of toilet paper, since it takes about 12 to 18 weeks to deliver. All that is missing to get this thing on a real track are the engine and transmission. As for the simulation aspect, this system uses three 23-inch thin film transistor (TFT) screens, an Intel Core i7 processor and a five-speaker surround sound system.

Give them rides from a toy store shelf and the cockiness of Top Gun, put them on courses from Mad Max and mix in a vibe and radio chatter from the attack on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, and what do you have? The Hot Wheels short film World's Best Driver.

The maker of little diecast cars got some big cars together - some you've seen before, some are from other planets - as well as some wild drivers and moto-crossers, and put them to the test at a 'secret' location called the Hot Wheels Test Facility, where things get quite a bit wilder than they do at the Nürburgring.

We have no idea why this movie exists, and we don't care - it's 22 minutes of camped-out fun and you'll find it below.

For those hoping the next iteration of Polyphony Digital's storied 15-year-old Gran Turismo franchise would take full advantage of the Sony Playstation 4, sorry, but we're going to burst your bubble. The next-gen console is slated to debut this holiday season, and while Sony officially announced today that Gran Turismo 6 would be released at the same time, it will be for the seven-year-old Playstation 3 console, not the new PS4. But hey, at least we won't have to have waited five years for this version like we did for the fifth.

GT6 will launch with a roster of 1,200 cars, 33 locations (seven more than GT5) and 71 track layouts. The racing simulator is also said to utilize new game and physics engines, which Sony claims "pushes the limits of the PS3." Today's announcement was made at the well-known Silverstone racing circuit in the UK, which is one of the new tracks in GT6. A demo version of the game with 19 cars (see the full list below and view them in the related gallery) will be released before the holiday season; Sony says it's scheduled for July and will kick off GT Academy 2013.

We'll see more of Gran Turismo 6 at the E3 games show in June, but for now you can watch the trailer below for what has become the Playstation 3's best-selling franchise with 70 million copies sold. This sixth iteration will likely lock down that honor for good.

The producers of Iron Man 3 undoubtedly have the No. 24 Audi RS5 DTM car driven by Adrien Tambay at last week's Hockenheim round to thank for the movie's record-breaking global opening. Not only was Tambay's car wrapped to be a high-speed billboard for the movie, the entire team dressed in Iron Man-themed race suits made by partner Alpinestars and wore themed helmets from Uvex. What other reason could there be?

To make sure that all of Earth's residents at least get to hear about the movie, Tambay's team will be donning the livery again at the Brands Hatch round on May 19. There's a miniature press release below, along with a video of the crew hamming it up - as you would do when you get the chance to drive one of the few Audis that might be cooler than Tony Stark's.

There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.

This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.

Racing gamers with Microsoft proclivities will no doubt remember the name Project Gotham Racing - a four-title-long series for Xbox and Xbox 360. The first couple of PGR games held sway over Xbox users though seemed to be outshone by the Forza Motorsport series on the 360 platform.

Now the Xbox is set to undergo yet another generational change and rumors are swirling that Lucid Games - an independent studio formed by former members of Bizzare Creations, which produced the original PGR games - has a new Project Gotham up its sleeve.

Lucid posted a status update on its Facebook page that reads as follows: "So yeah, Mid-May will be interesting for the studio. We have some exciting updates coming. Stay tuned!" Along with the update is the image you see above, which broadly hints at a racing game based in London. Connecting the dots on all of this are the gaming experts at Joystiq, who believe that these tea leaves all point to a new PGR upcoming for the next-gen Xbox.

If new rumors are correct, then the development pace over at Polyphony Digital has really ramped up. According to CNET, Gran Turismo 6 might be launching as soon as November 28 of this year.

The rumor that GT6 was coming sooner, rather than later, started when Italian retailer Multiplayer added a listing for the game, complete with a heretofore unseen box cover, as well as the previously unannounced release date. The listing has subsequently been removed, but the genie may be out of the bottle. Adding a bit of credence to the November launch rumor, we do know that Polyphony is planning some kind of announcement this month, though we don't have any details about it, as yet.

Even if GT6 is going to be ready for this fall, there's some chance that the European and North American game details - launch date included - may differ. However, a pre-Playstation 4 launch of GT6 would seem to be good way to tide over fans of the franchise, while the next-generation console version is being developed (not to mention giving PS3 a big shot in the arm on its way out the door).

Keep an eye out for more news on this front later this month, as well as for updates after the industries E3 convention, in mid-June.

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto video game series rejoice! With GTA V hitting shelves on September 17, Rockstar Games has released a new trailer, only this time we get to see even more car action/destruction.

This video gives us a brief look of the game from the point of view of three main characters: Michael, Franklin and Trevor. In addition to cars, it looks like users can still operate motorcycles, airplanes and helicopters. If you're looking for a different way to ferry your children about in the car safely, KidsEmbrace may have you covered. The company makes specialty car seats fashioned after DC Comics superhero Batman and NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Junior.

Why? Probably because there is no territory marketing departments won't fearlessly course through. The Batman seat features a cape and arm rests styled after the Dark Knight's own arms, complete with hands for cup holders. The Earnhardt Jr. example looks less like the racer himself and more like a generic helmet-clad hot shoe. Still, the treatment doesn't make the product any less creepy.

If you disagree, you can head over to the KidsEmbrace site for a closer look. The seats can be had for around $149 or so. Just don't be surprised if your kid isn't that excited about climbing into a legless crime fighter's lap for a trip to the grocery store.

In case you haven't been paying attention, it's "Big Money Week" on the long-running The Price Is Right televised game show. In a nutshell, it means that more than a million dollars in cash and prizes are up for grabs for those lucky enough to "come on down," play some games and correctly guess product retail prices.

Moments after opening the show Thursday, host Drew Carey broke the unexpected news. "Today you are going to see the single-most-expensive prize in the history of the daytime Price is Right," he boasted before the curtains were pulled back to review a brand-new Ferrari 458 Italia Spider.

To win the car, the contestant had to play "Three Strikes" - blindly pulling numbers out of a bag and putting them in the correct price sequence before grabbing three dreaded red strikes. As expected, your typical The Price Is Right contestant is about as familiar with today's retail Ferrari pricing as they are with fractional jet ownership. We won't spoil the fun of whether or not a lucky player gets to drive the $285,716 exotic home (and pay a midsize sedan's worth of taxes), but feel free to speed ahead to about the three-minute mark on the video below to watch the reveal.

A playful design company has created a delightful set of wooden playthings. The Dream Car by Huzi Design was a successful Kickstarter campaign for a set of interchangeable wooden blocks that can be used to create any kind of car - no, not just a car, any kind of thing on wheels. Now available for sale, Huzi uses birch wheels affixed to walnut bases, and different bodystyles are made of poplar and coated with the same paint used for chalkboards. The wooden bases contain magnets that are recessed when not in use but that pop out to secure the body on when needed. Each set comes with a box of dustless chalk so kids, and adults, can draw on the bodies and not make a mess.

The project was a collaboration of designers from around the world, answering the question "Why can't a dream car have graffiti on it, or have triangular windows, or even not have any resemblance of a movable vehicle?"

The video below with details the project from its Kickstarter roots, and explains the brainchild of a woman whose company name comes from asking herself the question, "What would the world look like if we all had a mustache?"

Grid 2 gameplay

The developers of Grid 2, which arrives in stores in May 31, three days later than originally announced, have decided to show us some details of the gameplay teased before in its new Racenet rivals system. Distinct from the career mode will be online modes that can accommodate 12 players paired by playlists and preferences like "anti-griefing," which can keep drivers who don't mind rubbin' separate from those who prefer no contact.

Modes are Race, Endurance, Drift, Touge, Checkpoint, Face Off and Time Attack. There are three Rivals modes that can choose competitors based on ability, social connections or custom settings. Overtake and Power Lap are part of Global Challenge events and races can be contested even when rivals are offline.

There's also the ability to record your finest moments in-game and upload them to YouTube. Speaking of which, there's a video below that makes all this info much more exciting, and a press release below that if you prefer the old-fashioned way.

Smack Attack Steering Wheel

We'll admit it: we're plenty guilty of using our steering wheel as an impromptu drum kit for awesome traffic solo performances. And by "awesome traffic solo performances," we really mean, "fits of off-beat epileptic flailing." But that's neither here nor there.

One company is out to turn absent-minded steering wheel drumming into a game with a special wheel cover. Called the Smack Attack, the gizmo features eight touch sensors that produce drum sounds on top of the music pumping from your iPhone music library. If that seems like a massive bout of distracted driving waiting to happen, its creators say the device could actually keep drivers focused by engaging them.

We suppose anything that keeps a driver's mind from wandering off is a step in the right direction, and Smack Attack isn't attached to any sort of game. It just lets you make fun noises by whacking your steering wheel. Buyers can also download songs without the drum part so that the user can drop his or her own beats. Forza Horizon has released a new, and free, downloadable content pack. The 1000 Club DLC features two new cars - the 1956 Ford F100 pickup and 1995 RUF CTR2 - but the more important part is the fact that players can now partake in a rash of new challenges.

How many? Try five challenges for every car in the game. The DLC will even recommend challenges for you depending on which cars you already have in your garage. What's more, they aren't just kept to the typical stunts we've seen from the game so far.

For instance, you may have to cause a certain amount of damage by running over objects, or do something like jump your digital supercar a specific distance, and each car has its own set of unique challenges to keep the gameplay interesting. Did we mention that it's also free, as in 400 MS points (or $5 US) less than the typical monthly Forza Horizon DLC pack? Hot Wheels Retro

Hot Wheels has rolled out a new series of die-cast toys aimed directly at our nostalgic hearts. The Retro Entertainment Series plucks iconic cars from movie and television past, shrinks them down to 1:64 scale and packages them up for your buying enjoyment. The collection includes machines like the 1932 Ford from American Graffiti and DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future to the Ecto 1 from Ghostbusters and The Bandit's '77 Firebird from Smokey and The Bandit. There's even a 1971 Plymouth Satellite from The Brady Bunch. All told there will be seven mixes, each with five distinct vehicles.

The sets won't just be land bound, either. Hot Wheels also plans to produce a few aircraft, including the Island Hopper from Magnum P.I. and Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica. Awesome.

If you want one, expect to pay around $3 for the privilege. Just be prepared for the quotient of badly-sung theme songs in your household to increase exponentially.

Whether or not you've seen and judged the trailer for the audio-oculo-neural assault that will be Fast and Furious 6 - you know, the one where an Alfa Romeo hatchback pulls down a military cargo jet at full throttle and then a pristine Dodge Charger erupts from the jet's flaming nosecone - we'd like to recommend you check out a facsimile made with R/C cars. That means that none of the classic and current metal our own Michael Harley got to check out on the Universal lot was harmed during filming.

NitroRCX replaced all but a few of the driving scenes in trailer with its own R/C creations, and it's a goof to watch - they've made a delightful parody of a franchise that's become parodic. They even kept the flaming jet crash, but used an arguably cooler stand-in. You can watch the NitroRCX take below, and we've also added the actual movie trailer so you can compare and contrast.

Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR - Forza Horizon

Forza Horizon fans will be pleased to read that a new car pack is available for download today, this latest one selected by the editors at Top Gear magazine. True to the Top Gear image, the selection of rides is both worthwhile and pretty quirky, too.

A 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish and the legendary Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR would seem to lead this class in terms of performance metal, though the utterly lovely Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato is no slouch, either. You might not instantly remember the Bowler EXR S, but rest assured that the love child of Land Rover and a rally raid outfit is a high-horsepower SUV that should be fun to use on the unpaved sections of the Horizon universe.

Still, the big win here is absolutely the 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan. A full-size Euro cargo van, pumping out an whopping 198-horsepower and with a center of gravity roughly eight feet off the ground. What's not to love? The steady drip of GRID 2 teasing, leading up to the game's May 28 release date, continues with a video, a press release and some new images from Codemasters.

The new video features a few more looks at USA-based racing in GRID 2, including cut scenes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the California coast and on the streets of Chicago. Narrated by the game's fictional, racing series-creating Patrick Callahan, the trailer also hints at some game mechanics for you, the driver and star of GRID 2.

Essentially, the better you race, the more fame (GRID 2 experience points) you gain to recruit fans, gain access to new events, attract sponsors and, of course, win new cars. Apparently there's also a tie-up with ESPN's SportsCenter for the new title, offering "live-action" cut scenes of your rise from nobody to big shot.
