2013 Hyundai Veloster non turbo

Nov 12, 2012

Just bought my wife a new 2013 Hyundai Veloster non turbo two weeks ago. We went to the dealer to look at the new Elantra GT, which we also test drove, but my wife saw the Veloster in the showroom and fell in love with it immediately. It doesn't ride quite as quietly or smoothly as the GT, nor does it have the power. But the vehicle is very eye catching and still handles well and it has adequate power for normal driving. We haven't taken it on any long trips with highway driving but intend to soon. My wife doesn't like cars with a lot of power and also prefers cars without a lot of bells and whistles. So this vehicle should be perfect for her. The touch screen radio is sweet and the car comes with a trial of Sirius satellite radio also if you're into that sort of thing. There are ipod and USB outlets, along with a single CD player for us old school people. Actually I'm old enough to still play cassettes in my truck. The driver seat has an adjusting arm which allows the seat to be raised and lowered as well as all the normal front back and backrest adjustments you typically find. The car also has bluelink which is similar to ONSTAR. The rear view mirror has the controls for that and you must be careful when switching the mirror to night use, to not accidentally press the Bluelink button, which I have done a few times already. The ride is good with a fair amount of road noise and rear view is limited by the sloping rear window and tiny hatch window. The three door configuration is nifty but will take time to adjust to if you use the rear seats much. We have our two year old granddaughters car seat back there with plenty of room for the next one. For a small rather inexpensive car it has adequate room and a rather large trunk. We bought the base version and it has most everything we wanted except heated seats, which came standard on the Elantra GT. So far my wife loves it and in one week we are averaging about 33 MPG around town. Better than our Suzuki SX4
