Budget Electric City Commuter
If you are a short city commuter, that is, 40 or under miles round trip, this may be the car for you! Once you adjust to the short range (62 total miles or so) and lose your initial anxiety of running out of electricity, you can relax and enjoy this little car. It is fun to drive, relatively comfortable, has plenty of power especially 0-40 mph, and is easy to park. I do recommend getting the 240-watt 7-hour home charger installed so you can drive it everyday. My experience is that it costs about $1.50 per night to get back to a full charge, which is very reasonable! The tax incentives for both the car and the home charger (about $7600) make this entry level electric car an affordable option under $20K. By the way, how much car do you really need to get to and from work??? The way I figure it, this car puts $10 a day back in my pocket every day I drive it instead of gas-fueled car.
