2012 CX-9 Overview

The BMW 5-series puts an emphasis on the driving experience. This mid-size luxury car remains a true sports sedan and delivers lively acceleration, precise handling and outstanding brakes. The Mazda CX-9 is a stylish alternative for those that need the versatility of a mini-van but desire the looks of a modern SUV without rugged off-road capabilities. With seating for seven and an attractive design the CX-9 certainly fits the bill. The CX-9 is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive in one of three models: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. Power comes from a 273-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission that has manual gear selection capability. Sport and Touring models feature 18-inch alloy wheels while the Grand Touring rides on 20-inch wheels. Folding third row seats and a sliding second row creates a surprisingly roomy cargo space. Standard safety equipment includes side curtain airbags for all three rows of seats, anti-lock brakes, stability control with roll control and tire pressure monitoring. The Mazda CX-9 continues with minimal changes for 2012.Now in its fourth generation, the M3 was first launched in 1986 by M GmbH who took what they learned on the race track to develop a high-performance street car that lives up to its motorsports heritage. The M3 is powered by a high-revving 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 414 horsepower. All that power is driven through the rear wheels via two different transmissions, a six-speed manual or a seven-speed double-clutch, and a variable differential lock. High-performance anti-lock brakes with cross-drilled discs work with electronic stability control and M sport suspension to keep things under control. For 2009, the sedan gets a subtle styling refresh. The rear-wheel drive 535i and all-wheel drive 535xi feature a 3.0-liter, twin turbo, inline-six generating 300 horsepower, with the choice of a six-speed manual transmission, optional six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic shifting or on the 535i only, a six-speed Sport transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifting. The 535xi is available in sedan or wagon bodystyles. Standard features include leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control with active micro-filtration, an AM/FM/CD stereo with 10 speakers, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, six airbags and a rechargeable flashlight in the glovebox. The 535 is unchanged for 2009.
