2012 Chevy Sonic LT

I LOVE my Chevy Sonic. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. It is sporty, has a great ride and it is perfect for me. I work hard and I know that I got my money's worth at a cheaper price. It was the first car I test drove on 11/29/14 and I was able to drive off the lot with it. It is Certified pre-owned in great condition. The paint job is spectacular and fire engine red. I LOVE my chevy sonic - good and gas and gets me where I need to go. A little slow off the throttle but once its going, it is a joy to ride in it.

I was skeptical - never had a sub compact before. The car feels very solid, handles very nicely, is very quiet and quite comfortable. The instrument panel is clear and easy to read. Color is tincoat red. the engine is the 1.8 Liter, 4 cylinder. it has a sunroof, heated outside mirrors and cruise control, radio and phone controls on the steering wheel (blue tooth and usb port). It averages above 35mpg on the open road and 22mpg around town. I enjoy driving it and it has good head and shoulder room. I would recommend it as the car to have especially for the price. The cons: No engine temperature or oil life information. the 6 speed automatic transmission surges a bit and shifts quickly in 1st and 2nd gear - 3rd gear is where the pick up kicks in. The tach turns 4K or more when accelerating.

I purchased this car about 8 weeks. Love it! rides very quiet. handles very well. But one of the best things, ROOM inside for the passengers in the back seats. All the controls are within easy reach. The instrument panels are clear and easy to view. I could not ask for a better car for the money. Thanks Hank Graph!!
Chevy makes a good subcompact in the USA.

I guess I am the first to review this car. I bought a Chevy Sonic 2LT with the 1.8Litre engine and a 6 speed automatic on September 28. The car is Inferno Orange metallic, and it has the standard 15 inch aluminum wheels. The car looks good, and everything fits together well. I may later install some of the opitional chevy graphic stripes if they aren't too expensive. The car feels solid, and it handles very well. Compared to many other cars of this class, it is quiet. The engine does not buzz, and road noise is not a factor. It is far superior to the late, lamented Aveo. It has all the options I like, including cruise, satellite radio, power windows and CD player. It also has a bluetooth option for hands-free dialing. On my last tank of gas, I got 34 MPG combined highway/city driving. The engine is responsive, and I am often surprised at how fast it can go, even at low RPM's. The six speed automatic can also be shifted manually, but you use a toggle-like switch on the shifter. Wish they had the paddles like the Honda Fit. The digital speedo is easy to read, as is the analog tach. Read the owner's manual, so you can get through all the digital screens (especially if you aren't a computer nerd). I ******* had a temp gauge as well as an oil pressure gauge. No problems so far, but I ran over a screw in the road with my right side front tire, which the tire preesure warning light pointed out to me. I got the tire plugged at the dealer, and will get a new one as soon is it comes in. I am not too crazy about the Hankook tires. They are P195 65R 15, but there are better American made tires available. Also, not too nuts about onstar. good in an emergency, and good with turn-by turn directions, but it also spies on you, knowing everything about your driving habits. Am tempted to pull the onstar fuse. A well built car...if you are considering a Ford Fiesta, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent , Toyota Yaris or Honda Fit, look at this one too. Made in Orion Michigan USA.
