cheap components bad fit and finish
bought this car new and at 20k miles tires had to be replaced because vibrating over 30mph dealer said tires are cupped, yet alignment was ok. replaced tires and had alignment done, at tire shop 625 out of pocket. tire place said wheels were way out of align, water in headlight gm says its normal. far from normal will not fix headlight, heater motor very loud noise, temp gauge up and down while idling, gm says no problems found, interior trin on dash falling off, seat moves when hit brakes hard, engine makes loud clicking noise at start up, gm says normal. car shimys when taking off from a light. gm says normal. not normal. front struts make clunking noise when hitting any kinda bump. car has 34k miles on it and rides like it has over 100k. doors don't line up fit and finish is horrible all over the car didn't notice day of purchase had I, would have never bought it big piece of American made junk. never again will I buy American made car just not worth it , cheaply made junk.
Been driving a 2011 LTZ for a week: I feel cramped inside. The ceiling is too low (it has the moonroof). The front windshield is smack in my face. The two front side pillars are too close and block too much vision. It has high seats - I can't see directly behind me without using mirrors. I turn to my left to see if anybody's on my left rear corner and I am totally blocked by how close the seat is to the window, the middle pillar as well as the high seats. By the way, I'm only 5'-10''. If I try and raise the seat, my head hits the roof (by the way, I had the same problem when I drove my dad's old early 2000's Seville). It would be simple to raise the roof of the car. Also, remember when Ford put out the "500"; it noted the aging of American's and their need for ease of access and visibility. Keep this in mind. Power is excellent, it has the 3.6l V6. Gas consumption is too high however, it needs a) direct injection; b) Active Displacement cylider deactivation, etc. GM needs to develop a 5-cylinder as well as use a lower displacement V-6. Torque curve is great - no problems. I use the instant gas mileage figure to keep my foot of the gas. Side view is too generic - all the GM lineup is looking the same. Hate the look. To hell with perfect aerodynamics. Back side view sucks - use the Pontiac G6 or Saturn Aura view. What about resurrecting the 2-door G6 in a Malibu version. What about a convertible.
Finally, we got it right!
My Malibu is a 2011 LTZ 4-cyl. It is just a gem - both on the hwy and in city traffic. I live just outside of Seattle, WA where it rains, and rains and rains, the LTZ gets me to work and home safely and in supreme ************* very quiet and solid, ******** the engineering that caught my attention. In fact, one of my co-workers who is a former Lexus mechanic, was totally impressed with how well the Malibu is designed and built. That is all I need to know.
2011 Malibu LTZ
Nice car. I just traded in my 2007 Vibe for the LTZ. Better seats and ride all the way around. People love the look of this car and I get told it is classy. Only 600 miles thus far, waiting for the gas mileage to jump up. I will keep you posted as to how it performs going forward. So far....Love it.
i bought the 2008 and has Lt trim with all the LTZ options except the pasenger power and power lumber. i was pleasently surprised that the 2011 is just about the same as my 2008. so i still feel like i have a new car style wise. i love this car. 17000 mile with no trip to the dealer. i have the v6 and if i keep it under 65 for a trip of 300 mile i have got 30 mpg In town with stops and starts will get 22-23 mpg..i have the 18in wheels which make this car look and handle even better. it has so much power id suggest you hang on if you punch it.. over all i give this car a 5 STAR rating.the kid that said his car has rattles probably flies over bumps and railroad tracks and abuses their car. i have no rattles. it is tight and quiet..2009,2010,2011 are carry over models im proud to say..
