2011 Bentley Continental Supersports
The coupe and the (new-for-2011) convertible Bentley Continental Supersports are two-seat, high-performance versions of the luxury all-wheel drive Continental GT and GTC. The Supersports' 6.0-liter W12 engine produces 621 horsepower and 590 pounds-feet of torque and sends power through a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission with steering column mounted gearshift paddles. A tuned sports suspension, 20-inch multi-spoke forged alloy wheels, a revised 40/60 rear-biased all-wheel drive system, traction control and stability control are standard equipment. Standard light-weight carbon ceramic brakes offer superior durability and reduce brake fade, where the brakes become less effective due to overheating in extremely demanding conditions. The Supersports is distinguished from the Continental GT and GTC by a front bumper with large vertical lower grille air intakes, dual hood vents, restyled rear bumper and rear fenders, and smoked steel finish to the grilles and window and door surrounds. In the rear compartment, the seats are replaced by a storage deck with a carbon fiber luggage retaining beam, although the Comfort Seat option provides rear seats. Climate control, a navigation system, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and satellite radio are standard. Light-weight carbon fiber replaces wood veneer on the fascia and centre console, while the leather- and Alcantara-trimmed sports seats also feature a carbon fiber clamshell back. The convertible version of the Bentley Continental Supersports is new for 2011.
