I was very speculative about purchasing the specrta or any economy car for that matter. Every economy car I had ever driven, be it forein or domestic felt like a piece of crap and not very dependable. However from the very first test drive I was impressed with the Spectra, not just the way it drove or the roomy interior, ************* like everything about the car far exceeded my expectations. So I bit the bullet and made the purchase of the car. I bought the car in January, 2010 and have done nothing but pat myself on the back ever since. I haven't had that first problem with the car, it hasn't developed any sqeaks the motor is still as quiet as church mouse and I am averaging 34MPG. It is an automatic and yes I do have to pay attention that I have the car in drive and not 3rd gear, it is easy to slip it down one extra spot. To sum it up, if someone were to ask me what kind of economy car to purchase i would not hesitate to tell them the spectra or any KIA for that matter. The spectra has style, comfort, and dependability unsurpassed by any other car in its price range and beats a lot of cars that are even double in price.

Since Kia became a part of Hyundai, the quality has greatly increased. I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra with more than 100,000 miles on it and it has by far been a better car than any of the American or Japanese cars I have owned. The 2009 Kia Spectra, which I bought for my wife, impresses me as being a Hyundai Elantra, but with a much lower price as Kia strives to build market share. The car handles extremely well, is quiet, peppy and has doors, trunk and power windows that all fit solidly. People who ride in it like the comfort and space. Experience with dealer was very positive and will definitely consider buying another Kia when the need for a new car arises.
