LOVE MY COMMANDER !!!!!!
I have owned jeeps for years. I had great performance and service from all. The commander is my favorite and is performing with JEEP PRIDE !! I have health problems and personally find getting in and out so much easier.
Well what can I say, I love it! It is fun to drive and I love all the extras (which there are many of). When you have the huge sunroof open and the windows down you feel like you are in a convertable. It has an unbelievable sound quility from the Bosten speakers and my children think it is really cool. It is true that it is difficult to see out the back window when the back seats are in an upright position, but the side view mirrors are huge and make up for the loss of the visability. The vehicle is black with black interior, we get a lot of stares from other drivers, a beautiful looking car. A thank you goes out to my husband for getting it for me!
We took delivery of our Jeep Commander on March 13 and have put about 800 miles on the truck thus far. Ours is the Sport model with the U Package which includes just about everything you would want - leather, moonroof, heated seats, Boston speakers, etc. The smooth ride stands out - I have owned various 4x4s over the last 16 years and none has provided as smooth a ride as this Jeep. I had wanted the 4.7 liter V-8 but there was none to be found in a Sport model and I did not want to go thousands more for the Limited model. Thus far the 3.7 liter V-6 has proved satisfactory - even has a nice growl on acceleration. The transmission shifts extremely smoothly as well and I am a big fan of the Mercedes derived autostick feature. All in all we are very pleased with the truck. The one negative is the third row of seats which compromise the cargo space as they sit on top of the normal load floor - while they fold completely flat, they take away a good six inches of height in the cargo area. Gas mileage could also be better but we are getting about 14 mpg in local driving which is not bad - expect to get 18 mpg on the highway.
Great for all around
Super SUV great for pulling my boat power to pass and great in the winter. Insude my kids love it. Very safe car. 5.7 Hemi need I say more!
Review of 2009 Jeep Commander
Best car for the money. Quality, design comfort and safety. Purchased the 2008 and could not be happier. Stadium 3 row seating! My kids and I love it. Don't waste your money with the European cars. The Commander blows them away. BUY AMERICAN! SUPPORT USA!
I am currently renting this vehicle while my car is being repaired, it was the only thing they had which would carry my family of 6. This is undoubtedly the worst vehicle I have ever driven. I will detail the faults: 1. There is absolutely no visibility when moving into the right lane on a highway or two lane road, I feel as if I am playing Russian Roulette. It is so bad that I will no longer move lanes. I stay to the right. 2. Very limited visibility when backing up. My husband actually felt he had to get out and look and he usually drives a truck so he is more used to this type of vehicle. 3. Very uncomfortable seating. I am only 5'4" and feel jammed in the driver seat - mostly like I am trapped under the steering wheel. 4. No Cargo space. If my whole family is in the car we cannot carry anything additional. I do not know where suitcases would go if we were on vacation. 5. Controls are confusing. 6. No pick-up in the engine. 7. Very poor gas mileage. I cannot wait to get my car back. I find it impossible to believe that anyone who test drove this car would actually purchase.
