Review of 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Love my 2009 Santa Fe! I have owned Nissans for over 20 years, and it took a lot to convince me to look at Hyundai. I was impressed by consumer report's ratings for reliability and safety. I also looked at and drove the Honda CRV and the Nissan Murano. In the final analysis, there was just no comparison for comfort, ease of handling, and interior design and finishing. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the passenger seat is manual, that just doesn't make sense given the rest of the appointments on the vehicle. Everything else is great, and I'm so glad I bought the Santa Fe!

I got the Sante Fe in August of 2009 and now have over 16000 miles on ******** a pleasure to drive and handles very well. Mileage is from 20--24 MPG depending on temperature city/country/highway and speed. We recently took a 2800 mile round trip to Florida and went from chilly New England to Hot Florida with no problems at all. The AC was more than enough to handle 90 degrees. Highway speeds up to 65/70 to (80 in short spurts)were easy and did not tax the engine. Handling was very good, and the XM radio is fabulous on the long trip! Even found traffic and weather channels. I formerly had a Chevy Blazer and compared to the Sante Fe it was not even close.

Love my 2009 Santa Fe Limited

I drove a Mazda Tribute for 7 years before purchasing this vehicle, and I am very pleased with my 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. I've owned it for about a month now. It rides very smoothly, and handles solidly. The exterior is a beautiful Pearl White. The interior is top grade, with gorgeous bisque leather seats, and woodgrain accents on the dash. The control lights are indigo blue, and easy on the eyes. Very little road noise, and a quiet engine are a big plus. Was very impressed with the 5 star safety rating, and the 5 year/60,000 bumper to bumper warranty, as well as the 10 year/100,000 mile power train warranty. I looked at both Toyota RAV4s and Honda CRVs before deciding on my Santa Fe. Compared to the RAV4 and CRV, and for less money, I got a roomier vehicle, much more luxurious interior, with all the bells and whistles. I was very pleasantly surprised by the great deal that we got on this vehicle.

Downsized after 20 years in Dodge/Chrysler minivans as I have grown children now and no need for the third-row seats any longer. $3500 rebate. Found a Limited without a lot of extra doodads. Rides like a car and not a truck or Jeep. Handles like a small hatchback. Very steady on curves at spped. Braking is smooth. Tight, tight steering. Quiet, even outside the vehicle, engine noise is minimal. Cargo space excellent with shallow but versatile storage bin. Sound system is a killer. Cockpit design excellent for access and view - quite a shock the first time you drive after dark and all the blue lights up in front and around you. The redesign since 2007 has increased the interior space for legroom, but headroom is tight for 6-footers - as my model had the power seat standard, I can maneuver without problems, but I don't know if the GLS or SE would accommodate. Mileage, using 93 Octane, is barely 18 for stop-n-go city/suburban driving. Pure highway at 65 and up goes at 27. Mixed at 22.5. I drove Dodge and Chrysler vehicles exclusively for 25 years. Even new, none of them were as quiet nor felt as solid. The bumper to bumper 5/60K warranty was the main attraction, followed by the rebate. The dealer not only worked like heck to get the financing, but also proferred 4 types of extensions to the warranty at different prices. For and extra $50/month, I now have a 10/100K bumper to bumper coverage - and since I average 18K/year, I am set. Finally, for those who have misgivings about buying from a foreign maker during these times, the Santa Fe and Sonata are made in Alabama. My Chrysler products were made in Canada.

My daughter has 2007 Santa Fe. Maybe they are better now, but there is no way 5 adults could sit in her vehicle. I sat in the front passenger seat and I am 5'8" and my knees were Touching the dash. My husband was in the backseat with our 2 grandcildren, 8 and 11, and was extremely uncomfortable. Would have unbearable to go very far in the vehicle. Also the passenger side handle, above the window, just fell off. She also had to wait for over a week for a part that was needed for something else that went wrong with the computer system of the vehicle. I say it is a piece of crap.

love my santa fe

i have had my new 09 santa fe for about a week. so far it's a dream.the ride is smooth, takes the bumps and train tracks like a cadillac. the color i choice is slate blue with gray interior, looks beautiful. very roomy inside, we are all around 6 foot, and have plenty of room. front seats are very comfortable and love the fact the back seats can tilt back like you are in a lazy-boy recliner. MPG has been around 15, but i do almost all city driving.i have looked at the honda crv and toyota rav and for the money you can't compare. you get alot more with the santa fe. you can't beat the warranty, 10 years, 100K on the powertrain, and 5 years 60K bumper to bumper. if you are looking for a mid size suv, take a look at the santa fe you won't be disappointed.
