2009 dodge charger
This is a great car if u have the side airbags curtain Dodge brags about 5 star crash ratings for front alot of the 2009 dodge chargers dont have the side curtain airbags. Its an option I was told I had all the airbags well after purchased I started to question the dealership and they skirted as I brought it up for discussion. This car has a poor side impact rating without the side curtain or seat airbags Im really uneasy with this I would of never bought the car If I was informed correctly. By Sept 1 2009 all car have to be equiped with this feature. Dont get T boned or your family well be making funeral arragements These auto makers fought this all the way and didnt **************** thank god they lost. They are lying when they say your familys safety comes first. They want plastic and thin metal and big profits
Another view of the Charger
This review is based on a weeks rental of a 2009 Charger. I wanted to see how this model compared to the Charger our family had back in the 70's. I'll confess that I'm not a great fan of most American cars and have preferred imports, so bear that in mind. I found the Charger to look stylish and ride comfortably. Those points were the two highlights. The Goodyear Integrity tires were without a doubt the worst tires I have ever driven on and the use of this tire causes a severe performance downgrade. Modest braking effort provoked sliding and squealing. Extremely modest cornering forces turning onto a slightly off camber wet highway provoked a vicious sliding rear end that required quick steering correction to regain control. Chrysler obviously only cared about cost when they chose this tire. No doubt the Charger SE would perform much better with higher quality tires. The engine performance was very anemic for having 250 horsepower. Any number of imports with similar power/weight ratios feel quicker to me. Acceleration is adequate, but nothing more. Fuel economy was ok, nothing exceptional during the week of use on long Texas drives. The interior is rather disappointing to my eyes. Controls, levers, switches, all feel cheap and flimsy. It's as if the Chrysler execs weren't going to spend a penny more on plastic than they had too. In contrast, Honda controls feel much more carefully made and designed IMO. Design of the interior is unimaginative and materials look cheap to my eyes, at least in the SE I rented. The higher line models I've seen look better executed. My 80 year old Dad liked the ride quality a great deal while being shuttled around. In the end, this car seems to have potential, but is woefully underdeveloped at present. If Chrysler's future fortunes rest on vehicles like this one, they are going to be steamrolled by the competition.
I BOUGHT A CHARGER FOR MYSELF AND IMMEDIATLEY THE WIFEY TOOK OVER!! I LOVE THE CAR AND WITH THE LIFETIME WARRANTY THIS IS DEFINETLY BY FAR THE BEST CAR FOR YOUR MONEY.."HANDS DOWN"..THE RIDE QUALITY IS INCREDIBLE..THE SAFETY-5 STAR...THE HORSEPOWER ON THE 3.5L V-6 IS STOUT..AND THE LOOKS ARE AS YOU SEE...I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THOMAS HILL BURGIN IN KODAK TN AND THEY TREATED ME LIKE A KING..THANKS
Best Value in Class
I bought this car for my son to go to college with. I test drove all the usual suspects and stumbled on this car. It is by far and away the most car for the money. Large comfortable interior. Single CD player,MP3 ready. Blue tooth ready, Auto locks and windows. Keyless entry. Smooth comfortable ride with decent gas mileage. And don't forget it looks great.
