2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT Reviews

Good Vehicle but Overpriced

Traded in a 2008 Toyota Tundra Limited for a end of year 2009 base Cadillac EXT. The EXT has a superior ride and more comfortable maneuvering and parking experience. Power is about the same, as is gas mileage. The EXT has a far larger gas tank, which provides more rear end weight for winter stability, and a terrific cruising range. The EXT interior is more stylish, comfortable and user friendly, but is lacking "cubby hole" space which the Tundra has in spades. Overall fit to finish is comparable as is front and rear head and leg room. The Tundra has a 6.5' bed vs the EXT's 5' bed. The EXT feels far safer on the highway with the AWD system, and has performed flawlessly during this years' tough Pennsylvania winter. The navigation systems have frustraiting trade offs; The Tundra's system is quicker and more precise, the EXT's OnStar/Nav sync is fantastic. Lastly, I wouldn't have paid anywhere near the high list price of the EXT ($64k, including Sunroof and Chrome 18" tires). A vehicle at this price should include front, as well as rear parking assist, keyless entry and start, LED exterior lights and interior ambient lighting, air-conditioned, as well as heated seating, etc. Caddilac's re-sale value is also dismal, ******* American and represents the best of our automotive heritage.
