I have the SLT Adventurer with the V8 engine. The power from this engine is unreal; excellent. Handling is right on the money with extremely little "sway" as is common in most SUV's. Storage is neverending. I still laugh at what I am able to stuff into this thing. Comfort is awesome throughout, even in the rear seats. You just glide on down the highway. Best vehicle purchase ever made!!!!!!

All the things I've read thus far say the Durango handles well in the snow. With winter 2008/2009 upon us, I'll know first hand how it does. Given perfomance as of today, I haven't been let down!

Review of 2008 Dodge Durango

Jul 23, 2008 by: AOL user

We used this truck as an overnight rental. The steering is light, but also completely numb. The 'expert' review regarding the handling is bogus. This thing sways more around turns and lane changes than a drunk college kid pissing in the bushes behind the bar. The 'stain proof' cloth seats are also a lie. The rental seats had numerous coffee stains in all seats... no cloth is 'stain proof', dodge. Fuel trip capacity was nice, as we were able to go 500 miles between fuel stops. Overall, there are nicer trucks in this price range.

The large engine available is a 5.7 Liter 345 HP engine not a 5.9L 245 HP. This engine tears the road up and passing people going uphill is not even an issue, I love mine. I do suggest going for the extra 20" wheel package it is really sharp.
