I traded my mid size Chevy SUV for my Matrix three months ago and couldn't be happier. The matrix is a great little economical car that has plenty of cargo space for my needs. The best part is Toyota reliability and I doubled my fuel mileage.
My 2006 Matrix has been a fun little car to drive. The seats are very firm making it feel really well built. The back seats fold down and the rear hatchback allows being able to haul a pretty good load when needed. When I keep it around 60mph and easy acceleration in town, I get around 34 1/2 MPG. Faster starts and 70 to 75 on the hwy, it drops to around 29 MPG.
