2006 Sportage Owner Reviews (4)
NO BETTER VALUE FOR THE $$$
AOL user Mar 28, 2015
We just purchased our 06' Sportage - 76000 miles one owner. This is the second Sportage we have owned - we still have our 02' with over 120,000 miles on it. The difference between the 06' and the 02' is astounding. While the 02' has displayed a remarkable level of reliability with, literally nothing going wrong with it save for routine maintenance, the 06' is far more refined in both Styling, Performance, and Handling. It is as if Kia made the decision to enter the world of "upgrade" with this vehicle. Why anyone would purchase a Rav 4 or a CRV when the Sportage is available is beyond us. There is no "better bang for the buck" than the Sportage. .

I bought my 2006 in May of 2008 and I have to say I just love it. The only drawback I see to it is the windshield wiper fluid reservoir is on the small side. Other than that I would and have told people that are thinking of buying a new car to go test drive a Sportage.

drove this car brand new off the lot, great car with one draw back: windshield wipers just STOP if 1. snow slides down from the roof onto the windshield and 2. if a snow plow happens to send some wet snow onto your windshield while your driving. i have experienced both of these issues without ever being warned from the dealership. when i complained to them their response was" it is a safety feature for the car to prevent the windshield motor from burning out" (guess human life is not as valuable) i also complained to the highway safety commission, no recalls that i know of as of yet and we just started 2009. but for the other seasons of the year it is great, milage on the highway is good and its low maintaince...love the extra insurance--costs around a thousand more but well worth every penny...covers you up to 100,000 miles bumper to bumper and if your car needs to stay overnight they will give you a loaner. other than the windshield wiper problem it is a great car ********** out for the snow plows on the highway, because they will stop to save the motor. (this has happend twice to me and it is real scary, once on the highway and once on the sideroads with a car full of children.....not good)this is why i rated the performance very poor
