rhd jeep wrangler nightmare
stoneshihtzu Mar 06, 2011
i did alot of research on this rhd jeep before purchasing it. most reviews from individuals and the experts made me feel it would be a durable and dependable vehicle capable of job performance for my 90 mile rural mail route. it being a right hand drive and the usps gave the full time employees $1000 incentives to purchase one. i thought it would make my job easier and was a smart choice to buy. i thought how could i go wrong? surely this was a lemon. i have had nothing but misery since i bought it. the ac/heater switch has been replaced twice (months to recieve due to back orders), the gear shifter cable broke, the transmission dropped out 4 months after i bought it. and worst of all it cant handle running my mail route cause it overheats. i currently have it in the shop to try to repair and correct all of these problems. i am very doubtful about it. to me jeep stands for just empty each pocket. i have never bought a vehicle that has stayed torn down as much as this vehicle has. if you want a jeep you better buy one new with a factory warranty because you will need it. the dealership chris myers from daphne alabama would not help me at all after they were paid in full. they got the money so it was all my problems then. have so much money tied up in it i am going to take a major loss if i do trade. i bought it on april 1st (april fools day )and boy was i fooled. on august 13th (friday the 13th) 4 mos later the transmission dropped out on my way to work. i left the jeep broke down now for about 6 months before trying to repair it and im still afraid this wont be the end of it. i do like the engines peppiness and the ability to turn around on a dime. maybe if i ever get it to run and stay running again i might would like it again. i'm really starting to have my doubts. hope no one ever buys a lemon like this. thank god my postmaster was backing me in this purchase or i might of lost my job with the breakdowns and problems it has caused me.

Love my Rubicon!

Bought my jeep at Alen Samuals in Haslet, Texas. Very nice people, I might add. Drove my Jeep off the lot to Missouri and have been a very happy driver. My Jeep drives great in snow, mud, gravel, rocks and the list goes on. It has been everything I expected. I love it and so do my students : ) Thanks Jeep for getting me through some rough winters and rainy days. I can't wait to take it to the beach.

This is my first jeep, and I've only had it for a few months, but I absolutely love it! I bought it partly to help slow me down on the roads, since I had speeding tickets racking up after owning a Jetta, and it's helped a bit, but not for lack of handling. I can leave the sides and back window off, let it get poured on, and the front seats still stay dry, even when the rest of it is soaked. I was rather annoyed the dealer told me this model didn't have drain plugs in the floor, and low and behold--I found them after letting it get drenched and having two inches of water in the floorboards, and it dries out in no time.
The features are great, it's easy to park and manuever in a small spot, there's plenty of room for storage when the back seat is folded down, and the soft top is easy to take off and put back on. Heat, a/c, cd player, and cruise control all work perfectly. Plus, when all the windows are on and closed, the road noise may be there, but it's minimal, and there's no wind tunnel happening. My only beef is the low gas mileage, but I knew that when I bought it, and what do you expect for an engine this size?

I've had Jeeps for years, this is my 5th. It is also my favorite. Great on and off road.
