HONDA For LIFE!!
scoswillia Nov 13, 2011
Purchased this Accord EX-L new in August 2005. Listed for $26k walked out paying $22.5k. Car has been almost flawless. Now has 102,000 miles on it. Here is the breakdown: Oil changed every 3-4k All fluids (Brake,Coolant,Power steering,Transmission etc) changed every 40k Tire rotation every 6-7k Always serviced at Honda City in Greenfield, Wi Never been in a crash. Original Michelin tires replaced at 75k with 1/4 tread left and all tires were wearing evenly (Replaced with same Michelins at around $900). Four wheel brake job done at 78k with 1/3rd pad life left, in fact the dealer really didnt want me to spend the money saying they still had life to go. NO Warping to rotors either so they didnt have to be turned. Around $300 at Honda dealer. Battery replaced at 80k (Honda battery @ $89.95 plus tax installed) Now the one issue which prevented me from saying car war 100% flawless and that being the alternator having bad bearings at 68k. $500 replaced at Honda dealer. 6 yrs and 102k miles, thats the only repair I have had therefore this is been the best vehicle I have ever owned. HIgly recommend to any one. I plan to drive it for another 3-4 yrs as it still drives like day one, tight with NO rattles or squeaks whatsoever. Engine/Transmission still perform as new also. I have the 2.4 Vtec and consistently get over 30mpg on the highway and have gotten as high as 34.5. Hope this review helps if your thinking about a Honda. I just purchased a brand new 2011 Honda CRV EX-L Navigation in April of this year and so far at 10k its been flawless.
My Third Honda

In the past 20 years, I have owned only 3 cars, all Honda Accords...they get better every time! My mileage is 20 in the city and 33 on the highway; who could want more? The ride is quiet, the handling excellent, and I will look forward to my 4th Honda in a few more years!

I am pleased with everything on this car with the exception of the windows which scratch too easily and the amount of road noise they let pass through. On coarse highways you can not listen to the radio or have a normal conversation as the decibel level soars. This is the biggest draw back of the accords and most other hondas and i dont know why honda does not address the problem.
