My 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT

I Love My Van!! It's definitely, a "nice ride." And, I have all the room I need. It has Plenty of Power, & drives like a luxury car. It handles the road, great! V-6/3.0 engine. I bought a Garmin "c340" GPS, & have it mounted on the dash. I remove it, from the mount...every night!! Bought it, Brand New...with a "Bank Check." So, I had NO payments...to deal with!! I had a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan SE, (purchashed used)...before this van. I've driven it (2005), from NYS to California...& back. It gave me, No problems; except for the rear "leaf springs & shocks." I had it, "slightly" over-loaded. Too much weight, for too long! But, it was not an "emergency." You could barely tell, that one side...was slightly lower, than the other side. I was able, to wait...until I returned east, to have things repaired. Dodge, paid for everything; in-full. Anyway, I'm getting ready to head west again...in September. This time, for good! Moving to, the southwest.
I LOVE MY CARAVAN!!!

This is my first vehicle of this type. The lack of blind spots, the easy access to the car interior, and, its great handling, make the Caravan a superb vehicle. Also, it uses fuel efficiently. I know when I have to replace it, :-( it will be with another Caravan. B. Love

The SXT model includes many extra options, including the "stow & go" seat folding feature which I find a delight to have. This vehicle has required small things to need repair, though, such as power window controls, automtic door locking, etc. In fairness, the dealer repaired them under warranty but the hit on American made vehicles is somewhat valid. My wife's Toyota is a 2003 and has needed nothing beyond fair wear and tear. My gas mileage seems better than the 26 mpg you list. I average about 28 or 29 mpg. Overall, I'm very happy with my Caravan but notice that 2008 and newer models redesigned some features and made them considerably less desirable such as the steering wheel lock, and in-steering wheel controls for the radio and cruise control. The seats also feel less comfortable. Other features were added that probably only appeal to families with small children. I might consider buying a third Grand Caravan if the price is right.
Stow & Go is the best thing since sliced bread. My last van was an Odyssey and this isn't quite there in terms of performance (gas mileage, transmission) but the cost isn't either.
It's a great affordable, versatile mini van. I have three kids and buy & sell antiques, so it's such a pleasure to not have to fight with taking seats in and out. The power doors and stadium seats are great too.
