Not that GM makes a bad P/U, just that the '05 Dakota suits my purposes so much better, there is no comparison. Loaded Dakota Laramie Crewcab - flat-out love the fulltime AWD (Durango drivetrain?) system and the U-Connect Handsfree Bluetooth Cellphone system. I'm a real estate agent and live on the phone, but at least I have both hands on the wheel and my eyes on the road. (use auto-answer and voice-actuation a LOT). Handles like a car, decent step-in height for little ol' lady clients, more back seat room than my '96 Silverado 3-door XCab. Sufficient power out of the 4.7 V8 to get up to freeway speed on the onramps, and really sounds SWEET @ 5K RPM with the Flowmaster singing! (highly recommended modification). The style reeks testosterone, especially with the gray metallic paint. 25 mpg freeway with the muffler, K&N, hard tonneau cover, & full-synthetic oil. Coulda bought a LOT less truck for just a LITTLE less money (Colorado, Canyon, or Ranger). I'll buy another one with the revamped 300+HP 4.7, if they get around to producing them - even if they DID ugly up the front end styling. Best truck I have ever had for the last 30 years - just the right size. Only complaint is the CHEAP seat covers - the Laramie "Leather Seating Surfaces" are vinyl everywhere except just the center inserts - a little truth in advertising is in order here. All in all, 9.9 on a 1-10 scale.
