05 Cobalt 2 Door Loaded
tird Dec 03, 2009
When I say loaded I mean loaded. This car came with everything Chevy had for it. Love the engine and gas milage. I could get 38 all the time in warmer weather. The engine is so smooth and predictable. I loved the outside styling. Brought back some things of the past. The interior was great and the seats were good for long trips without pain. The auto tranny shifted well and I like the electric steering. I didn't think I would but I did. The car was also great in the snow. I noticed every once in a while the dashboard would go nuts but it would go back to norm and I never worried about it. The ride was soft and compliant as long as there was no spirited driving to be done. When pushed into a turn hard the car would display bad manners, ecpecially in the department of too much body roll. The brakes felt good in regular driving but fell way short for real quick stopping. All in all it is a nice car (I ecpecially liked the engine)so long as you drive it easy. No spirited driving. The engine is up to it but the suspension and brakes are not. With a couple of tweeks GM could have made it a world class car. Oh well....Maybe it was just me. On the other hand they sure did a good job on the SS Cobalt SC but then again that is not a car for everyone either. Somewhere in the middle maybe.

not the best cheap car out there, have had ignition problems, problems with the shifter, and the alternator. had the ignition replaced 3 time in the 6 months i have had it, was told these are very common problem with the cobalt. only good thing i can say is the gas millage is a lot better then what Chevy says it gets.

I totally LOVE my Cobalt! I've driven Chevys for 41 years and adore driving this one. Recently drove to and from Canada and the car handled like a dream.
Good car for the price

I bought a 2005 cobalt over the summer. Nice body style, comfortable on long trips and gets great gas mileage.

We get great milage (34 mpg with mostly in town driving) and love the ride.
