I The 2004 highlander is the best car that I have owned. it has 100254 miles and never had a problem. Gas milage on a trip was excellent. I would buy a highlander again. In fact i am going to buy a new one this year.

I bought this vehicle new and take very good care of it, I have 78,000 miles on it now, but it is diapointing. First, lets start with the all wheel drive system. It eats up tires! I rotated them every 5,000 miles and it doesn't matter. The factory tires (Toyo) lasted 23,000. the next pair lasted 40,000 miles of a 60,000 mile warrenty. Second, the third row seat in this vehicle is useless. It can only accomadate children under 12 and with that seat up your cargo space is tiny. You can only fit one large suitcase behind it and it has to be standing, you can't lay it down Third, I had problems with this vehicle that should not have occured. Replaced master window control switch 25,000 miles, Moonroof had to be replaced at around 50,000 miles(motor went). Though these were under warrenty it never should have happened. Also at 73,000 miles I had to replace both wheel bearing assemblies on driver's side ($800.00) I called Toyota on this matter and got the standerd response that the vehicle was off warranty. There is no way that I should have had to replace those at that little mileage. I don't drive off-road or tow anything with this vehicle At 77,000 I had to replace the spark plugs, so much for they are supposed to last 110,000 miles. This vehicle is well maintained and not abused at all. This vehicle is a real let down and not real quality. This is the last Toyota I will buy and I have owned three others! Be warned not to buy a all wheel drive vehicle from Toyota.
