Timing Chains et all...
AOL user 2015-01-26 00:15:52
90K miles on the button the timing chain went. Nothing has been the same since. Water pumps, alternators, front end, transmission, brakes 3 times in 2 years. "woody" style car, trim fell off on a hot day. Stickers peeled 2 days later. 134K and despite babying it, this car has cost me thousands more than I purchased it for.
TEN YEARS ANG GOING STRONG!

I bought the 2003 in 2002 . Bought a gold Limited one with all the bells and whistles. Have totally Loved this car. Can't figure out why Chrysler cut this from their line. I know that had their financial problems, but feel this was a car that would be bought for many more years if they had kept producing *********** a fun car to drive, nimble, quick, and loads of room when you need it. Also, very good on gas, and this model has the 180 hp vs the 150 hp. I have two girlfriends that own them now. One just bought a 2007 PT and she is styling and loving driving it all over the place. I bought this car when I was 50 and still get HAPPY when I climb into it to go somewhere. Had a few repairs, but nothing to make me want to sell it. It has 86,500 miles on it .

Review of 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
My PT Cruiser
I have never liked a car better than I do my PT. It is all I could want and more. Lots of room for passengers and cargo, comfortable, and great looking. What more could a person want!
When the PT's first came out I thought they were silly...but now I really appreciate them. It's such a small car but there is SO much room on the inside!Actually they are not that bad on gas! I have a 30 min drive to school and I can make it on an eighth of a tank! Very stylish I think...but where I live only the elderly buy this car. It's not a very rich city, and I'm not rich, I just got a really good deal! The only problems I had was through bad business. A coat hanger rapped around the shocks, squeaky breaks, and then the belts stretched out and it squealed on start up. Since then...everything has been fine(knock on wood)! I would suggest everyone buy a pt...perfect for traveling!

GREAT DRIVING CAR , AGREE WITH OTHER REVIEWS ON THE THE GOOD POINTS, HANDLING ETC.. bUT THIS CAR ONLY HAS 37K MILES AND ITS STARTING TO GET EXPENSIVE.. HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP 7 TIMES.WARRANTY HAS ENDED... FOUND A GOOD SHOP TO WORK ON IT. BUT EVERY 4 MONTHS THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THE LAST BILL WAS $400.. WHAT A LEMON!!! TOYOTAS /HONDAS HYUNDAI GO THOUSANDS OF MILES WITHOUT PROBLEMS, BUT iM AFRAID THAT PT CRUISERS ARE POORLY MADE. Look at the reviews, their either 99% great or too many things going wrong with them. thats not a good record!!TOO MANY LEMONS(and they sell them for 29k?) u got to be kidding! im going back to where i'll get my $$$ worth and get DEPENDABILIY TOO !! TODAY I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP,IM WAITING FOR THE DIAGNOSIS FROM THE SHOP.. iM KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED>> GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF YOU PT OWNERS.COUNT YOUR BLESSING IF YOU'VE GOT A GOOD ONE. ps::: to the owner using so many brakes,,, we were going thru the same thing, we switched to quality ceramic pads, they last about a year, maybe a little less if u are a hard braker...
