Bugatti Auto Show Coverage

Bugatti was founded in 1909 in Molsheim, France by Ettore Bugatti. The brand has made a name for itself building some of the most exclusive and fast cars ever made. While having often found itself in dire financial straits throughout its long history, Bugatti has been passed through many owners and is now controlled by the Volkswagen Group. The sole vehicle it produces today is the Veyron 16.4, which vies for the honor of being the most expensive and fastest production car in the world.

Beijing: Bugatti Veyron Legends Edition Black Bess isn't exactly subtle
    1398101340

The Bugatti Veyron Legend editions may do nothing to alter the Grand Sport Vitesse's already prodigious performance, but buyers appear to love them. Four special models have been unveiled so far, and Bugatti has sold out of all of them. At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the automaker has introduced the fifth Legend – the Black Bess. Unlike the ...

Confirmed: Bugatti to reveal final Legend editions in Beijing, Pebble Beach August
    1394454600

While it wouldn't be fair to say it stumbled upon it, having invested unprecedented amounts to develop the Veyron in the first place, Bugatti has certainly arrived at a winning formula with its special editions. Take on the world's most expensive and desirable supercars, give it a special paintjob and name, and presto! You've got a multi-million-dollar ...

Geneva: Mansory Vivere is surprisingly subdued
    1394049540

As far as tuning companies go, Mansory isn't exactly known for its restraint. That's why this Bugatti Veyron-based Vivere is a little shocking to us. In terms of ostentatiousness, this thing is actually pretty tame, especially considering how over-the-top Bugatti itself can go with its legendary supercar. For starters, the body is done up in a two-tone ...

Geneva: Rembrandt signs off on the latest special edition Bugatti Vitesse
    1394013600

Remember when the Bugatti Veyron first came out? You'll have to go back the better part of a decade to 2005. People were taken aback by the million-dollar asking price. But now there are plenty of cars with price tags in the seven-figure range. Pagani gets that much for the Huayra, as does McLaren for the P1 and Ferrari for LaFerrari. Aston Martin ...

Report: Who was Elisabeth Junek, and why is Bugatti giving her a special Veyron?
    1393421460

Bugatti is in the habit of recalling names from its storied history on the nameplates of its new models. The Veyron, after all, was named after Pierre, one of its most accomplished racing and test drivers. So, too, was the concept that preceded it named after Louis Chiron, another Bugatti racing driver of yore. And lately, the Alsatian marque has been ...

    1391523300

With all of the special editions and differing variants of the Bugatti Veyron being produced year after year, perhaps now is a good time to reflect back on the machine that started it all. Bugatti has announced that it will put the original EB 18/4 Veyron design study on display at the Salon Rétromobile in Paris. This is the first time the concept ...

    1383667260

Bugatti is in the midst of a six-part special series of Veyrons that pay tribute to legendary figures from its history. The first, unveiled at Pebble Beach, paid tribute to Jean-Pierre Wimille. The second arrived in Frankfurt to recall Jean Bugatti. Given the patent application we came across, we expected the next would honor Ettore's brother Rembrandt ...

Last month in Monterey, Bugatti pulled the wraps off the first vehicle in its series of Legends cars, honoring Jean-Pierre Wimille, one of the automaker's longest-serving test drivers who also happened to win the 24 Hours of LeMans... twice. Now, the next special edition Veyron has made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show: the Legend Jean Bugatti. But ...

Bugatti has just unveiled its second Bugatti Legends car ahead of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Like the car it displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Frankfurt car is based on the 1200-horsepower Grand Sport Vitesse, and honors one of the great figures from Bugatti's history - Jean Bugatti. Yes, that's a famous last name. Jean was the ...

Official: Bugatti brings Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse "Gris Rafale" to Brazil
    1351031400

Bugatti's Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is downright well-known around these parts. Not only have we reported on the 1,200-horsepower Veyron selling for a pretty penny at Pebble Beach, we've seen a funnyman Leno take one for a pleasure cruise in SoCal. Apparently, Bugatti believes that the Grand Sport Vitesse is likely to be just as popular in South ...

Monterey: Special Edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse sells for $2.5 million
    1345636680

Speculative investors should have held off on purchasing Facebook stock. Instead, they would have been wiser pooling resources for the Special Edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. The one-off supercar, with an asking price of $2.5 million, was shown at "The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering" at Pebble Beach over the weekend... and it was sold to ...

    1344028500

The fourth annual Wilton Classic and Supercar Festival goes down on August 5th, and organizers of the event have come up with a supremely fast attention getter: a Bugatti Veyron art car. Well, almost. The Bug was wrapped in vinyl that was designed by an artist we've written about before, Ian Cook, known as Pop Bang Colour, who immortalized an image of the ...

Official: Bugatti unveils one-off porcelain-trimmed Veyron Grand Sport Wei Long edition in Beijing
    1335292140

It takes a lot to grow jaded at the thought of a one-of-a-kind, seven-figure, record-breaking supercar, but that's what's happened after this many years of special edition Bugattis. The latest: a unique version of the Grand Sport roadster created for the Beijing Motor Show and one lucky (read: obscenely wealthy) customer. Called the Wei Long edition, ...

Geneva: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is where top speed goes topless
    1331027100

You have to applaud an automaker like Bugatti. Not content with being second place in the production car top speed category, the automaker created the monstrous Veyron Super Sport which, with a top tested speed of 267.81 miles per hour, holds the record for the world's fastest production coupe. Now, here at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti has ...

The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year. Official: Bugatti presents new Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse for Geneva debut
    1329924540

You've seen the Grand Sport. You've seen the Super Sport. Now meet the Super Grand Sport. Actually, Bugatti calls its latest version of the Veyron the Vitesse – French for "speed" – but it is essentially a combination of the best traits of the Grand Sport and Super Sport models. The Grand Sport, as you may recall, is the convertible (or ...

Official: Bugatti showcases the Bumblebee of Veyrons in Qatar
    1327437000

With a gazillion color options for every little part of the Bugatti Veyron, there's no reason why any two examples should be alike. (Except for maybe an inverse correlation between wealth and imagination.) So it would stand to reason that every Bugatti should be considered a special edition of one. And that certainly appears to be the case, as the French ...

Official: Bugatti brings three special Veyron Grand Sports to Dubai
    1320957180

Production of the original Bugatti Veyron may have drawn to a close, but that doesn't mean the end of the Veyron altogether. Of the 150 examples of the Grand Sport earmarked for production, only 45 of them have been accounted for. That leaves another – carry the two, divide by the square-root of pi – 105 examples still available for order. And ...
