Not content with a bit part on the options sheet, high-end sound gets a starring role on the BMW Individual 6 Series Gran Coupe Bang & Olufsen Edition. There's no technical difference between the 1,200-watt, 16-speaker High End Surround Sound System in this run of 6 Series Gran Coupes and the $3,700 system you can order as an option on the standard Gran Coupe, but the special edition gets brushed black aluminum finish speaker grilles, a first for the range.

Alpina has been lovingly modifying BMWs for half a century, but as we learned during a tour of the company's HQ in Buchloe, Germany, Alpina has been in the wine distribution business for nearly as long. The company has an estimated million bottles on reserve in two warehouses and a beautiful wine cellar/tasting room on property in western Bavaria, just yards from where its 1,500 hand-crafted automobiles per year are produced.
Despite being a well-respected outfit for decades, Alpina remains something of a mystery to many stateside BMW fans. In Europe, Alpina has established itself as a first-rate source for breathed-upon high-performance Bimmers, and it's looking to continue picking up traction on our shores. The US has received a handful of Alpina models through BMW factory channels, namely the 7-Series-based B7, and now we're getting another fast four-door with the debut of the BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe at to
Oh, Hamann. After rolling out the ridiculously pink Mystère at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the tuning company has worked its mirror-finishing magic on the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, debuting this, the aptly named "Mirror" at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It sure is shiny, and a full 40 millimeters wider than the standard M6 GC.
The leaked facelift images and the Competition Package rumors were accurate: These are the 2014 BMW M5 and M6 models, with exactly three nips and four tucks distinguishing them from their outgoing counterparts, as well as an expected track-day overhaul package. The standard M5 boasts 560 horsepower from its 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8, and the new Competition Package ups that to a preliminary 575 hp, with shifting options remaining the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or the six-speed manual. U
BMW shoppers looking for sportier and more luxurious versions of the 6 Series and 6 Series Gran Coupe without stepping up to the mighty M6 now have something new to check out. Offered on all versions of the 640i and 650i for the 2014 model year, the company's M Sport Edition package goes on sale in June with prices starting at $80,625 for the 640i Coupe, $83,325 for the 640i Gran Coupe and $87,925 for the 640i Convertible (*all prices including $925 for destination).
Alpina is hard at work on a new version of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. Spy photographers spotted this machine out on public roads, and while the iconic Alpina wheels, reworked fascia and rear spoiler are the the most obvious tweaks to the long-nosed four-door, we're told the machine will also boast a 100-horsepower jump over the stock 650i Gran Coupe. That should give the Alpina variant around 545 hp, just 15 shy of the ludicrous M6. We wouldn't be surprised to find appropriate suspension and b
Attempting to at least stay abreast of the spy shots, spy video and photographs of the M6 Gran Coupe, BMW has released a small set of its own images. They don't give much away concerning the 560-horsepower four-door 6er, but this is one of those situations where we already know everything there is to know. We're just waiting for the guilty party to officially confess.
When it comes to the M version of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, we've already seen spy photos and video of the car testing, but we've yet to see any shots of it in production trim until now. The new M6 Gran Coupe has done plenty of testing on the Nürburgring, but Car Magazine snapped a picture of the car sitting idle at the 'Ring, which was reportedly on hand for a BMW event.
The pageant of global automotive finery that is Pebble Beach weekend is under way, and among the many automakers with big plans is BMW. Its prize pony will be the unveiling of the BMW Zagato concept (click the photo above to enlarge) – a different BMW-Zagato collaboration than what was revealed at Villa d'Este earlier this year (see gallery below). This one to be debuted at Pebble Beach has familiar lines, but is a roadster.
German powerhouse tuner AC Schnitzer has spent some time fettling the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé, the result being a 360-horsepower 640i sedan with all the restraint of a Mako shark. The additional grunt adds up to 40 hp for the 640i and 47 hp for the 640d, with said grunt made more finely tuned as it rides on Schnitzer's own spring kit and wheels that range from 19 to 21 inches in diameter.
The 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe may have debuted a full three months ago (time flies, huh?), but we're just now seeing it in person for the first time here at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The prolonged debut almost makes sense for BMW's big coupe, since it's a late entry in a segment that already includes stunners like the Mercedes-Benz CLS, Audi A7, Porsche Panamera and even the Aston Martin Rapide (if you're really reaching).
A myriad of official official pictures and video means we already know what the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe looks like, and we already know the base-model 640i variant will cost $76,895. The top slot, however, will be taken by the M6 Gran Coupe and it is in barren polar areas still preparing for primetime.
