Steven Ewing has had a life-long love for all things automotive. In addition to having several relatives employed by various automakers, Ewing was exposed to the inner-workings of the automotive media at a young age. After getting his foot in the door as an intern at Automobile magazine, Ewing spent four years at Winding Road before joining the Autoblog team in early 2010. Steven is a proud resident of the city of Detroit, and though cars are his true passion, he also enjoys playing the drums, traveling, being hilarious (and modest), and eating brunch.

    Quick Spin: 2015 Nissan Juke
Turbocharged Oddity Ups Its Funk Factor 1418230680

I didn't always like the Nissan Juke. When it launched in 2010, I just couldn't get over the way it looked – it came across as super weird, and kind of hideous at first blush. But I slowly warmed up to the funky little crossover/hatchback/thing, and after spending some time behind the wheel, ...

    First Drive: 2015 Nissan Murano
    Third Time's The Charm 1418057820

The Murano has an interesting position within the Nissan stable. On one hand, its size puts it between the Rogue and Pathfinder, both of which are geared more toward families, big and small. And while the Murano could easily be used for hauling your brood, that's not exactly its forte. After all, ...

Confirmed: Mitsubishi Mirage sedan confirmed for US

The Mitsubishi Mirage easily takes the cake as the worst new car I've driven in the last year. Actually, make that the worst new car I've driven in several years (Side Note: when was the last time I drove a Smart Fortwo?). But regardless of what I, or my colleagues, think about the Mirage, it's ...

Los Angeles: Editors' Choice: Top Five 2014 LA Auto Show Debuts
In Which We Pick Our Favorites From Los Angeles 1416851100

It's often easy to jump to conclusions about what will absolutely steal the show at an automotive expo. Something ultra-sexy, fast, and exotic? Safe bet. A brown, Swedish shooting brake? Sounds like a winner to us. But sometimes, when the votes are tallied, we even surprise ourselves. And that's ...

Los Angeles: We obsessively covered the 2014 LA Auto Show

If you believe the Missing Persons song, "nobody walks in LA." And considering how important the cars of the LA Auto Show are (not to mention how many times we've almost been run down while crossing the street), that's a song lyric we can certainly get behind. SoCal loves cars, you guys.

Los Angeles: Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept still makes us swoon

We know, we know – this hot little guy isn't really new or anything. Volkswagen first rolled out the Golf R 400 concept in Beijing earlier this year, and since its debut, we've heard rumors that the German automaker might-perhaps-maybe-hopefully build the thing. Its showing here in Los ...
