As the luxury automotive brand of Nissan, Infiniti - since its U.S. launch in the fall of 1989 - has been charged with penetrating the profitable market for high end automobiles that exists (most years) within the United States. With but one competitive product and esoteric ad campaign, the US launch was less than successful, and it took Infiniti well over a decade to find its voice in the increasingly crowded luxury segment.

Today Infiniti would seem to have found that voice - and market share - with a wide-ranging selection of sedans, coupes, crossovers and SUVs. Most affordable is the all-new QX30 crossover. Using a Mercedes-supplied platform and drivetrain, the QX30 offers a contemporary 5-door profile and an entry-level window sticker of around $30K. And with tme and growing visibility, it could also become the brand's most popular. There is no halo GT in the lineup, but the new Q60 Red Sport 400 has, as the tag would imply, unlimited potential. And the 'most expensive' honor goes to Infiiniti's QX80 SUV, where the model designation and delivered price (under or over roughly $80000) essentially overlap.
